@goldste.in do you have a minute to talk about Greg N? I’m working on a project about him and I’m looking for a list of the OtH episodes he appeared on.

Too bad they didn’t walk by the crowd leaving the 7 o’clock showing of The Empire Strips Back at The Alberta Abbey.

I wonder if the Tillamook County Creamery Association will find this…

I’m not sure the phrase “Young, yet mature for its age” for the Baby Swiss cheese slices is hitting customers in quite the way they (naïvely?) intended. At least in the current political climate.
Packaging for Tillamook Baby Swiss cheese with slogan for the product at the top.

If you are sitting at lunch and tell someone you just met that you don’t have anger issues… your statement may not communicate what you think it communicates.

Happy International Literacy Day to those who celebrate it!

The day's aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities, and societies. Celebrations take place in several countries.

The list of grievances in the Declaration of Independence a To Do list?

“For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses”

“For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world”

“He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures”

@gutenberg.org the 15xx series of Shakespeare’s plays have new covers that look quite snappy!

… if I do say so myself.
The titles of each of Shakespeare’s plays, as included in the first Folio. Each title is laid out with a touch of design and subtle typographic flair. The Comedies are on gold, the Histories on slate shades of blue and green and the Tragedies are on blood red.

I’m reading estimates that a meteor impact taking out humans isn’t likely in the next million years. (That’s the “we need a backup” scenario most often referenced.) It seems that in a thousand years, we’ll have enough tech to make Mars happen, incidental to whatever technical progress we make.

@947fm.bsky.social what is going on the with KNRK-2 stream? It was happening occasionally in the last few months but there is a glitch in every 3rd or 2nd song. The song cuts out, a mid-song clip of another song (correct genre still) plays for 3 to 8 seconds, then the previous song plays again.

Here’s a project that someone out there will think is fun - do a census of unicode characters used in Project Gutenberg texts. In addition to helping PG code development, it might be interesting from a ddigital humanities/data science angle. github.com/gutenbergtoo...

I’ve left messages on FB and Insta, but there’s no other public space with active participants that I can find.

It’s a squandered opportunity not having a discord or other self-hosted digital community or even a list-serv.
