I've heard from discrete sources that there are viewers at the studio(s), so I do think there's something to the idea I've contributed in some loose sense.
But I certainly can't overpresume anything from that.

The question of how much of an obligation "history games" have towards actual historicity is quite possibly the most central and recurring one in my work.

From talking about maps and Vic 3 to GGS and EU5 to Civ and its -pedia, to Imperator and its time compression, that question is core.

I wouldn't dare insinuate this is down to my nefarious influences, but I am very glad to see things like "pop-history expectations" and Paradox getting their role as an entry-point and genuine force in historical perception coming up, right alongside words like "responsibility" no less.

I did, some of you may recall, play Fable 3 for a video once, but this comment is about Fable 2, and telling me to talk about Fable 1, and a "small fish" which I don't even know what they mean, if that's even a real thing being referred to.

I love when YouTube's AI suggested comment reply feature just tells me to lie to people.

Youtube AI reply suggestion on a comment by someone who talks about their fable 2 experience, stating "I did a Fable playthrough for a video years ago and spent about an hour just trying to fish for the little fish."

I'll leave it at this: I think conflating Hamas, a clearly religious organization, with ISIS or Al Qaeda, misses a lot of important nuance, and presumes that Sharia is even the goal for Hamas, which would be at odds with its modern charters and democratic participation.

The problem with the "rooftop" thing is that it's predominantly used in service to cutting down Palestinian causes, under the implied assertion that a current or free Palestine would do those things, or pass some vague bar into being a "theocracy"

Either your point is a non-sequitur inspired by seeing words about throwing people off of roofs, or you are in fact choosing to conflate Mamdani with the theocracies. I don't think anyone here is pro theocracy of any flavor.

1) I fail to see a way to make that relevant other than through racism.
2) historically some Muslim countries that were NOT secular were more tolerant than Europe at the time (ex 19thC Morocco)
3) "tossing off roofs" is an Israeli talking point based on willful misuse of footage from 2015 ISIS Syria

"Taqiyya" has become a fascinating specter of racism, a word that exists far more in the minds of right wing creeps than in the practice of Muslims. They LOVE to bring it up as some kind of "did you know Muslims are allowed to be DECEITFUL to get what they want?"

When really it's nowhere near that.

Surely, he understands the idea of Christians with a range of religiosity. He knows Catholics who differ in church attendance, "Easter Christians", bible thumpers who believe in ghosts, and so on.

But to Woods, a Muslim must be lying in order to enjoy something "against faith."

The racism of people like Woods is so intrinsic that it's kinda built from first principles-- this imagined type of Muslim he hates is so convoluted yet flat, that it requires one to see "Muslim" as a singular unerring type of person with no room for nuance or difference.

I don't really understand why there's even an option to order pizza in the sims. It's way more expensive than cooking, and ingredients just materialize in your fridge in exchange for money, so even with the cook time, between calling for the pizza and seducing the pizza guy, it saves like zero time.

Speaking of which! If you’re enjoying FFT I cannot recommend Tactics Ogre enough.

It is such a BIGGER and BOLDER game both in terms of the tactics but also the directions the plot takes. Multiple narrative paths through a really amazing story.
