I don't have a lot of cosplay community interactions on bsky but the "sewing versus armor builds in craftsmanship contests" discourse is going around again on other apps and yes it's annoying but i can't deny it always gives me motivation to start tinkering with my next competition project again

it's so funny how my longterm ttrpg characters have ended up influencing my style even YEARS after i've stopped playing them. i never used to be someone who loved frogs and snails until i played my circle of stars druid who had a frog familiar and got really excited about snails and now here we are

this is my advice for any creative label you wanna put on yourself tbh
just call yourself a painter, singer, performer, game master, sound designer - whatever.

also straight up if you wanna be an AP performer just put "actual play performer" in your bio lol don't call yourself aspiring or beginner or wannabe. Just Do It.

I'm not gonna talk down on my acting and ttrpg rules mastery but the fact I'm consistently on-time for streams/recordings and responsive to discord messages from my producers are JUST as big of a factor in how much stuff I get to do

if you wanna be an AP performer - you can take all the improv classes you want and know all the rules of the game you're playing like the back of your hand but if you're unreliable and a poor communicator with out-of-game logistical issues like scheduling, you're still not gonna land a lot of roles.
