Alpha Course #8 accidentally gives us one of the biggest dealbreakers in Christianity:

When something's imaginary, believers in it can describe it in any way they wish. After all, who's going to prove them wrong?

A god who sets up elaborate coincidences to guide some followers, but refuses to rescue children molested by ministers. That's the dark side of divine guidance: A god who's either fantastically stupid or tremendously evil -- or, dare I say, nonexistent.

No matter how many times evangelicals and Catholics insist there's some massive Gen Z revival, the numbers so far don't support their claims.

Alpha Course #7: Divine guidance. Christians can't even decide what it looks like, much less how it works. No surprise, though, right? It's really hard to pin down something imaginary.

Once again, the Rapture. Like all the other times. But this time for sure! Really!

We explore some of the underpinnings that run through all of these failed predictions. Plus: DIAGRAMS!

Pigs are surprisingly close to humans for transplant purposes! I'm glad that the leaders of those religions accept them for that.
We explore how the Jewish taboo against eating pork led to the ultimate rejection of all things Roman: Christianity.

This one became one of my favorite posts of the year so far. I hope you like it:

Perfect! Definite pumpkin now.
Ye'd best start believin' in a politically-violent America, Americans. Ye're in one.
BTW - a few vertical-ish lines running along it might help?
Embrace your beautiful golden orange apple! It looks like an apple sun :)
This might be the worst Alpha Course video yet. This one's about why the Bible is totally relevant to everyone's lives. But Christians can say that as often as they please. That doesn't make it actually so. Even they know that!

If you ever wonder why evangelicals keep trotting out tired old arguments like strawman atheism, it's because they just don't have anything persuasive. They build and attack strawmen in hopes of making their own claims sound better.
(LOL nope)

For a few years prior to 2015, I used to get in online fights with evangelicals who didn't believe their religion was in decline. That year, though, Pew Research forced them to accept that fact. They didn't respond well. Here's a retrospective:

#5 of the Alpha Course, an evangelistic Bible study for potential recruits to Christianity. This one tackles prayer. And somehow this series just keeps getting worse. Bonus: One of the lies this video tells is tied to my deconversion!

Thank you!! I'm so glad you like them and they're useful to you! I want everyone to know this culture. Forewarned is forearmed, etc.
It's funny to me, as an ex-Christian and None, to see these crusades/revivals get all hyped up with nowhere to go. They're just a sugar high for believers. Normies don't even notice them. It's really something to behold.

I always think of Tim Minchin as older than me, but he's a tad younger. My goodness. Well, happy 48.5 birthday to him, and may many many more follow. He's such an effective voice in the darkness.
I promise you this: However dumb you think this situation is going into it, the reality is so much dumber than you could have imagined. It's layers upon layers of dumb. Apologetics is such a disastrous look for evangelicals.
