Sharing some favourite shots of 2025.

Few sights match a cartwheeling stump (unless you’re the batter). Here the off stump’s blown away leaving middle and leg untouched with the bail still on!

In Nottingham at the weekend I'd hoped to visit Trent Bridge on Saturday, but the game finished in 3 days! Congratulations to Notts on the Championship win. In their pre-season game at Oxford I got this shot of Brett Hutton who went on to take 38 Championship wickets this season.

At Lord's today to catch a last bit of cricket (as a spectator not a photographer) before the season ends. Lovely autumn weather and nearly 400 runs, a great innings of 171no from du Plooy.

I was putting the big lens away for winter and wondered what my statistics were for 2025, so I checked:

🏏 I saw 8995 runs scored
🏏 I saw 368 wickets taken
🏏 I saw 7 new teams
🏏 I went to 10 new locations

Already looking forward to 2026!

The National Counties' season came to a close when Buckinghamshire beat Devon by 19 runs in the NCCA Cluberly Championship final at West Bromwich Dartmouth CC. Here're some images from my two days at the final.

Buckinghamshire, having won the toss and chosen to bat, were all out for 217. In reply, Devon reached 4-0 from one over before bad light brought proceedings to an end for the day.

Those dark clouds looming over Sidmouth brought a heavy shower of rain just after Oxfordshire were all out for 172. Lunch is being taken and the sun is out again, so hopefully things will dry up and Devon can start their reply.

Making my first visit to Sidmouth Cricket Club today to see the NCCA Cluberly Championship game between Devon and Oxfordshire. After warmups started in sunshine some heavy rain arrived, so the covers are on and fingers are crossed that it will clear up soon.
