What’s your favorite thing about yourself? I will start by saying what's not my favorite thing about myself. Most of the time I don't take rushed actions. I think I am actually a little bit slow for taking decisions. For example, when it's about relationships, I like to give the other person the benefit of the doubt. When it concerns my plans, I like to give them a lot of consideration.

How do you want to retire? I don’t think I’ll ever truly retire—not in the traditional sense. When I quit my day job, I want to stay active, doing whatever helps me feel productive. But I dream of a season in life where pressure gives way to presence and ambition makes room for quiet joy. I picture sunny afternoons with a book, unhurried…

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily? Most of my possessions are no more than six years old — that’s when my life took a sharp turn. A rupture. A before and after. Notably, that's when I moved from Brazil to Canada. It's bittersweet to think about that time, so many dreams and hopes, so many events that have happened since.

Describe your dream chocolate bar. From forgotten libraries of the Old World came the occult wisdom... and from deep forests of the New World, the delicate flavor. The result was a delicacy like no other: the Arcana chocolate bar. It's a fusion of the sacred and the profane. Alas, it's the convergence of the permitted and the forbidden. A marriage of the hidden and the revealed.

Do you remember your favorite book from childhood? Reinações de Narizinho by Monteiro Lobato was one of the first books I ever read on my own. According to Wikipedia, its English title is The Adventures of Lúcia Little Nose. The story filled my imagination with whimsical adventures and unforgettable characters. Looking back, I understand why it sparked my love for reading—it showed me that imagination has no limits.

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why? I wish I was more spare with the five star ratings on my Goodreads profile. It would certainly help me now in narrowing down the books that have had an impact on me. When I went there, I saw that my average rating is 4.29. If anything, it shows that I mostly read the books I knew beforehand I would like.

What fears have you overcome and how? This was the strangest coincidence—or synchronicity—that has ever happened to me. It all revolved around the number 19. I remember it vividly, it marked me profoundly, and I hope you'll see why. Every time I hear the song Como nossos pais by Elis Regina, I relive it. I'm sure Jung himself would've been intrigued.

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen? Lately, I’ve been trying a new approach when it comes to my screen time and online presence. I’ve started giving priority to the things that feel scarce in my life—sunlight, nature, fresh air. Instead of spending my days online, I’m choosing to do what’s truly important first.

What quality do you value most in a friend? I feel truly blessed. I have good friends in every aspect of my life—friends from school, from work, from my community and neighborhood, and even within my own family. They know who they are. And I know what makes each of them a true, special friend: trustworthiness.

What jobs have you had? When I got out of college, I envisioned my career as a straight line. I imagined every job would be better than the prior one. I thought I would use all the knowledge I had accumulated until then in the next phase. Naively, I had it all planned, in my head I would have a beautiful and stable future.

Do you practice religion? This is a question that feels deceptively simple, but for me, the answer requires a bit of unpacking. I don't think that a "yes" or "no" answer would do in my case. So, here goes the longer version. My religious roots I don’t go to church these days. I don’t belong to any formal religious group, nor do I observe rituals in the traditional sense.

Do you remember life before the internet? This is what a typical day in the early '90s would look like, before the advent of the internet. I am not sure whether I need to explain what many of the things I'm going to mention are. Forgive me if I'm being redundant. All Hit Radio To start my day I had an alarm clock radio.

What are you good at? The last time I answered that, I listed five things I thought was good at. Oh, gosh! It's almost six months since then, time flies. It's fun to look back to a similar post and see what has changed. I started then by saying that I'm not one to brag, and that's still the case.

What does "having it all" mean to you? Is it attainable? So, this is a tricky question... Having it all can mean having everything that one needs to enjoy life, not everything that one desires. That should include good health, meaningful relationships, a job that fulfills you, an intellectual and creative outlet. If I think it's attainable? Yes, I think so.

Who would you like to talk to soon? That's a nice thought... I think I would be talking to Agatha Christie. I know that I am always drawing comparisons between the past and the present (and perhaps, the future?), but in this case this again seems inevitable. A few decades ago, talking to a friend, a relative, or a loved one was much more difficult.

What personal belongings do you hold most dear? Just yesterday I talked about many things that I cherish. These include my collections of books, watches, CDs and tarot decks. But today we have a subtle twist to it. I want to consider the belongings I hold most dear, that is, things that carries some sentimental value. Those definitely would include my photo albums.

Do you have any collections? What you choose to collect can say so much about you. It's curious how it also reveals how much you have changed through the years. I have collected many objects during my life. From CDs, to books, to watches, and many other items. Right now I'm in my Tarot collection phase. Classical music phase There was a time when I used to collect classical music CDs.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind? It’s not easy to define oneself, I’m still searching for my essence. I suspect this will take a lifetime. Because of this, I’m leaving every day a little piece of me on the pages of this blog. Doing this helps me in the process of self-discovery. These are my thoughts, my words, my actions.

How do you feel about cold weather? We Canadians have at least seven months of winter... The way I feel about cold weather is a love-hate relationship. First, I loved the fall colors, the temperature dropping, the first days of snow, the Christmas decorations. Until we got to January. Then I hated the snow storms, below freezing temperatures, the salt on the streets.

Have you ever broken a bone? When I was around seven years old, my mom left me and my brother with my grandma. At least I think I was seven. She needed to run some errands and grandma was happy to babysit us. I will not say that I was a terrible child, because I really think I wasn't. But we took an interest in playing, exploring and doing daring things.

How do you balance work and home life? Like many people, I have a demanding work schedule. Finding a balance between work and home life can be challenging. I have considered recently some strategies for avoiding working after hours. Today, I'd like to explore some other strategies to keep work and home life separate, whenever possible. Set clear boundaries…

What's the oldest things you're wearing today? This was a gift for my birthday, a Rose Apothecary T-shirt. I really don't remember the year, maybe 2020, but I want to say 2021? If indeed it was, that was the year of my COVID birthday celebration... we did it at home, just Thiago, Kati, Thomas and myself... Oh, what a sad and happy time that was!

Are you a leader or a follower? When we think of leadership, the first idea that probably comes to mind is the charismatic type. This leader gives powerful speeches and excels at persuasion. They thrive on the big stage, whether on television or in front of large crowds. But that’s not the only kind. There’s also a quieter, more introspective form.

List your top 5 favorite fruits. If you ever have the opportunity of visiting Brazil you are going to be in for a treat! The fruits grown there are delicious! Make a point of visiting a farmer's market, and you will not repent. You will find the most fresh, ripe and succulent fruits in the world. It took me to change countries to realize that.

What's one small improvement you can make in your life? I’ve noticed a pattern in my life that might sound familiar: I want to go to bed early, but I keep working late into the night. It’s not always out of necessity. Sometimes, I’m riding a second wind of focus that didn’t show up all day. Other times, I’m just trying to make up for hours I feel I lost to distractions, interruptions, or mental fog.
