The fact that this is even seriously discussed, by frontbench politicians and in mainstream publications, shows that something fundamental has broken in UK politics. All those who look at Germany with horrified faces because of the rise of the AfD, kindly take a look in the mirror.
Dan has got it.
Who has the energy to be engaged enough in this debate to even mull it while brushing their teeth in the morning, let alone discuss it on telly
Just the MD of Cannon Industries regularly taking his - at most, given D.O.B. - 7 yr old son to sit in the away end at Villa Park in the 1980s. And having a lovely time.
I mean not *all* the men and women worked together during the week. Some did, some had other jobs. For instance, Robert Jenrick’s dad was Managing Director at Cannon Industries.
Jenrick casting 1980s British football hooliganism as something that was easily dealt with by police and not an era defining issue which we're still living with the consequences of today... He's genuinely the most unserious person in British politics rn
If the UK had any sense it would be rolling out the red carpet for every American scientist. But a substantial part of that would involve fixing our HE sector, so
RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.
Jonathan Ross says he really didn’t enjoy his #CelebrityTraitors experience and yet
I think this is sort of my point. Talking carelessly (and I’d say it’s probably fine to frame “the age of NATO is over” and “our policy [to remain in it] is outdated” as pro-withdrawal) and falling into the same traps experienced by predecessors isn’t the mark of a new savvy mould of Green leader.
Not me getting caught being unsavvy
His interviews get shared a lot on social media. Dunno if that’s the mark of savviness but the same was true for Corbyn and he was decidedly un-savvy.
Is he media savvy? His interviews aren’t great and in his short time as an MP he’s laid plenty of landmines to walk back over in future: nimbyism at decent projects, loudly advocating to leave NATO and opposing nuclear power. Some is Green policy but he’s been quite unsavvy in how he’s tackled it.
Quiet night in the home goal. I think not.

My kid started school in September and they’ve got a farm visit this Thursday. Sounds like the sort of thing anyone who’d done the briefest research (or, say, had reached out to the local schools to offer as an opportunity before calling the papers) would know.
You know this reporting is giving Martin Compston the horrors in his WhatsApp groups.

“What time are we meeting later?”
“Oh is that Hollywood’s Martin Compston?”

Reckon she was probably asked about antisemitism because there was a fatal attack on a synagogue just over a week ago.
I only read non-fiction because I refuse to indulge lies.
Looks like she’s set up a business and the government is no longer subsidising it.
