With low pressure tracking inland to our south, we’ll see a turning of showers coming in east by day, moving north to south tonight, mainly affecting the East Bay approaching sunrise as the low slowly exits to the east during the day Wednesday. #CAwx 10/14/2025

California storm on satellite with global lightning mapper overlay. Potential for flash flooding and strong thunderstorms continues esp. into Central and Southern California #CAwx 10/14/2025

Still seeing roaming downpours and a chance for isolated thunder until sundown. Stronger cell over the Sunol Grade moving SSE as of 4:30pm. More intense thunderstorms continue to our southeast and into Central California #CAwx 10/14/2025

Expecting a soggy afternoon & windy (isolated thunder possible as well). Note as low pressure tracks inland to our south, the counterclockwise airflow brings showers in from the east Tuesday and eventually out of the north Tuesday night before we begin to see some clearing Wednesday. 10/13/2025

Approaching 12 PM radar update: rain starting to increase & we should see regional rain rates per hour and wind peak mid afternoon to early evening. Scattered showers to follow into Tuesday. 10/13/2025

Wintry mix of rain and snow as we head up EB to Donner Summit. Now just snow at the summit. @robmayeda.bsky.social @edwardsanthonyb.bsky.social

The first significant storm of the season is upon us. Given the colder air support some hail producing storms (in addition to strong wind/high rain rates) will be likely, and we may see some special marine warnings at times as well. 10/12/2025 @nbcbayarea.com

I would… a lot of this depends on if you happen to have a thunderstorm pass through your neighborhood too. Those kind of high rain rates are what can overwhelm clogged rain gutters

Fortunate timing where the weather is concerned for weekend plans… but we have some rather big changes around the corner for Monday. Expecting the first significant rain and Sierra snow to start the week with the chance of isolated thunderstorms as well. @NBC Bay Area #BayArea #Sierra

Another warm one tomorrow with mostly 80s all around (a few 90s possible inland) then eyes on the rain chances starting up later Thursday and into Friday. Medium range ensembles not quite seeing eye to eye on the pattern yet (other than higher totals north), thus we have this. Stay tuned. 10/6/2025

Some offshore wind to start the week, mainly across the mountains, but the effects will be felt down to sea level with warm temperatures near the coast and inner bay. There is another chance for more rain later in the week, something to keep an eye on. 10/5/2025 @nbcbayarea.com

Fall fast forward: some soaking rains are starting the day, should see more activity moving to the east later. Chance for some stronger showers, isolated T-storms esp North Bay Mtns… and yes, that is high elevation Sierra snow at times into tomorrow. #CAwx 10/2/2025

As these things typically go this early in the season… top rain totals were in the North Bay, Mt Tam at 0.77” generally less than 0.10” elsewhere south. #CAwx 10/1/2025

Almost always … SFO issues are ceiling related, even if visibility or RVR is good. AWC 👀appears to be CIG. Not seeing anything crazy in the pilot reports, might possibly have a little bit of low level wind shear, as you noted with that change in wind direction.

Wednesday being best for rain still looking good esp. late morning to midday timeframe. Should get some clearing Thursday-Friday although may see showers over the inland mtns during the afternoon, eyes on what that low does into the weekend for both wind (north/offshore) & precip east. Stay tuned.

Smoke from a complex of fires in SW Oregon continues lingering in the Bay Area, although we should begin to see a reversal in that wind pattern with rain chances over the next couple of days that should help. @nbcbayarea.com #CAwx 9/28/2025

Well… about that northward shift. Monday’s weather system coming in weaker in terms of rain chances. Follow up system Tuesday night until Wednesday may have better totals but again mainly north of SF. We’ll see if this trend continues with the evening model runs tonight. #CAwx 9/28/2025
