I don’t know that anyone’s going to say it better than @moiradonegan.bsky.social
It’s excellent to see him getting the Penguin Classics treatment. Lennon’s right though — the old covers are better.
And now that’s what I’m going to think of whenever I say to people that my daughters are chalk and cheese.
Kennedy called autism “a [good start] complex [yes, good] condition [perfect, now just stop] with [I said stop] a [where are you going with this?] multi-factual [what? I mean… no, wait, what?!] ideology [WHAT!!??]”

What next? Marxist flu? Radical leftist cardiomyopathy? STALINIST ALZHEIMER’S?
Every word of this ❤️
If you, like me, are the parent of a neuro-atypical child dreading this autism press conference, please remember: These are the people hurting our kids. Not us. They are the ones stigmatizing and pathologizing them. They are the ones peddling untested science. And we should be very, very angry.
Excellent! I’ll bring The Anarchy as well then 😬🤣
Quick question: are you doing any pre-/post-talk signings? I’m guessing not because biggish venues.

An early look at next week’s cover: "Remote Control,” by Barry Blitt.

I’d always thought that the whole point of America was that the American people “get to decide what the American people think” but I guess that whole ‘No tyrants! Give me liberty!’ thing is all just old hat now. Shame, really.
I didn’t even feel it! I work at RBWH and I’m guessing the structure’s just too solid. Or flexible? Other people on the floor felt it though, so I was most disappointed that I got zero wobble.
What he said (much more powerfully and succinctly than I just did).
the intensity of my anger at those who would criminalize the homeless — a population literally created by the greed and callousness of the ruling class — is very hard to contain. it was you who dismantled the safety net. if you don’t like the results, put it back
If it was actually crime he was concerned about, why didn’t he tell the criminals to leave? He’s bundling his actual target in with his straw men, turning them into threats they’re really not, then militarising the capital city to get rid of them. Blatant propaganda + military takeover = dictator.
The gangs, criminals, youth & maniacs all have extra inherently loaded descriptors. The homeless people don’t, because for Trump ‘homeless’ is equivalent to ‘violent/bloodthirsty/wild/drugged out’ & it’s meaningless to him that they’re people. On Sunday he told the homeless people to leave DC. (1/2)
Well at least now we know who can play Nick Cave in a biopic (which would be amazing btw).
Post someone who looks good in a hat.
Right then. The Return of Covid, the sequel that no one (specifically me) wanted after two and a half years since the original. At least this time I have themed reading material.
And fancy coasters.
Done. Looking forward to it.
Excellent! I’ll book it right now then 😊
I have no doubt on that score — I loved The Anarchy, and this looks just as fabulous. Just sorry I couldn’t get to your gig at the Brisbane Powerhouse earlier this year.

“Frappe frappe”
“Qui est lá?”
“J’adore…”
“J’adore qui?”
“J’adore qui not working?”
Oh I love being inadvertently right! Reading that opening ‘Gobsmacked’ section I thought ‘well that’s interesting, I was just reading about Herakles the other night’ — coz I’m also reading RC’s Cadmus & Harmony right now (slowly; very slowly) — and then I flicked through your end notes and lo! 😆
