Gouache studies from tonight. All Zorn palette all the time. I’m really happy with how these turned out.

Gouache studies from tonight’s figure drawing session
Some quick Rebecca Guay studies in gouache. When I played Magic the Gathering in the 90s I’d run five color all Rebecca Guay decks and lose miserably. Her work is a big reason I became an illustrator.
Did nothing but paint today
A few sketches from last night on my new, more compact sketch easel setup. I like being able to control the angle of the substrate independent of the tray surface in this design
Some sketchbook drawings from NYC, the drop-in figure drawing night that I run at school, and from a recent artist talk. And also a Scully in gouache
Today’s other project is this James Gurney style sketch easel. Just need a few small parts and it’s good to go
Finished Hammershoi study I. Oil
I tried painting in gouache from a model for the first time to mixed results
Sketches from an artist talk
I like watching the Criterion closet pick videos but not enough of them pick Salo. I want them all to pick Salo.
A few hours into a Hammershoi master copy
Some figure drawings from tonight and a Scully painting from this morning
This is my first oil painting in over a decade. I really hated everything about painting in undergrad but last year I guess my attitude changed and I’ve been enjoying going back to physical media.
