In my latest Substack article, I’m talking about the Anthropic lawsuit, what it means for authors, and most importantly what we can do as a collective to push back. 📚✍🏾

Yacht, private plane, champagne for breakfast...

Harold Robbins managed it!
I’ve certainly been impressed – and 9 series worth ain’t bad these days! Don't tell me I need to watch Morse now as well…
Brilliant, Shona – a second career as a casting director beckons. Not that you’ll need it. I recently picked up The Bookseller of Inverness on a 99p Kindle deal, so you must be minted now . . .😉
Only recently started watching. Had prob wrongly dismissed it as cosy crime – no offence, cosy fans – but it’s got a definite edge. Really enjoying it. Good, tight scripts. Great production values. Captures the period nicely. Roger Allam can do no wrong. Ninja granny sounds like my sort of thing...

This 1930s aerial shot packs a lot in. The obvious highlights are the Royal Infirmary, Cathedral and Necropolis. Today the area is a chaotic tangle of roads servicing the M8 and only a few tenements remain.

Excellent – congratulations, Craig!
You may have a point there...🤔
Cheers, Shona! In fairness, the cover was done by Charlie, the artist, for the original English language edition...
Check out the Spanish edition of Heretic, written by me, drawn by Charlie (The Walking Dead) Adlard, published by @planetadcomic.bsky.social . . .

A 1922 Victoria motorcylce in the Riverside Museum in Glasgow. Founded as the New Victoria Cycle Manufacturing Co of Scotland in Dennistoun in the 1890s, Victoria originally made bicycles which customers could watch being built.

Comedy-drama stage play 'The Steamie'. First staged at the Crawfurd Theatre, Glasgow in 1987. Written by Tony Roper.
It’s a great novel, now possibly due a reread. Yeah, I can see Charlie and Arkady getting along nicely – the last two good men in a bad world.
You shoot the place up in your series, I’ll shoot it up in mine, and we can compare the damage...
Well, it’s been closed since lockdown with no sign of reopening as far as I’m aware, so...

And, hey, it’s publicity!
Which seems like a wonky way for things to work in many ways...
I did want to use Rogano’s as a location, but it didn’t open until a couple of years after the events of the books.
