Extraordinary piece in the New World magazine about the network of influence built up by Paul Marshall. GB News only the tip the of the iceberg. This manipulation of our politics by the super-rich from deep within the shadows (or in this case, Dubai) really can't be right...

You weren't meeting up with this politico reporter by any chance? Might explain their unique take on PMQs...

📜 PMQs scorecard:

While the British leader stuck to his script, blaming the Tories will only work for so long when Labour is in power. Meanwhile, Kemi Badenoch did a decent job of attacking the holes in the government’s answers.

Here are our scores 👇

The PM conceded witness statements in the failed investigation about individuals accused of spying for Beijing would be published.

Wow. That’s not going to age well. Did the writer go for an early lunch and just phone it in?
Crikey 😳

“Lose your temper, lose the argument.”
And he’s clearly lost his temper.
INCREDIBLE clip.

<Richard Holden MP shouts like an angry man in a pub>

Lisa Nandy: "Can you calm down a bit, mate? You're shouting like an angry man in a pub."

Richard Holden: "That's not fair."

<continues to shout like an angry man in a pub>
Very Australian 😁

I flutter between agnostic and atheist, but my kids all went to church schools (CofE primary/junior & a very multicultural Catholic secondary) and was really impressed with how much they were taught about “other” religions, and how the school celebrated all religions key dates.
That’s what GBNews etc are banking on. Helps promote more division, and the people most easily divided are the ones that can’t think…
Which raises the question, why did he go ahead with it anyway then? The sheer ineptitude is staggering. But hey, he got a knighthood, so he’s fine.
Useful thread about a deeply depressing twisting of facts.

The racist minority in this country are getting out of hand again. They need to understand that it’s completely unacceptable to the majority of us when they behave in this way.
🚨Christian children were told they'd "be Muslim by year 6"!🚨

😱Sounds outrageous?

You know the drill…

If it sounds outrageous and designed to trigger you into being angry with “other” people, then you need to do some 🪏

Not good. Saddens me, as I loved travelling to the US, but these days (with my views and social media history) I’d not risk it any more 🙁
There is no lack of free speech. We can say whatever we want. But, just like in the USA, there can be consequences.
Our freedoms are enshrined in the ECHR, and further protected by UK legislation.
Struggling to see the UK as an authoritarian state. You honestly believe that?
In the UK, you need to have done something to provoke the interest of the border control before they can justify using the powers that they have. Especially the anti-terrorise stuff. But having reached that threshold, you’re in a bad place, legally speaking. As Tommy is discovering.
No shit Sherlock…
Politicians and their staff have been warned by MI5 that they are being targeted by spies from countries like China, Russia and Iran to undermine British democracy.

Petrol money, I suppose. It is a Bentley after all …
No, the police cannot. The police require a court order to demand the PIN, and even then, you can refuse (but there may be consequences).

This was Border Control officers, acting under anti-Terrorism legislation. MUCH scarier. But while they have much more power, they’re only at our borders.

Certainly the same type of people…
I’m sure we have a tower still …
AKA, he infamously doesn’t like receipts and traceability…
Unless it’s set to music and called lyrics. I really liked what Benjamin Zephaniah used to do too. But yes, mostly agree…
He was driving a Bentley Bentayga (£225k) and had a suitcase of money on him when he was stopped at the border.

So no, probably not. But if they’re daft enough to give him their money, I’m sure he’ll be happy to take it.
Oh God, yes. “Great Expectations”, and “Of mice and men”here. Grim, grim stuff. I’ve never read any more from either author.

But I was lucky, and also got “Romeo & Juliet”. Our enlightened teacher took the whole class to see it on stage. I still love Shakespeare. Preferably on stage 😉
Shakespeare is hard to read b/c it was written as plays. Take the kids to see it on stage; they’ll appreciate it more, and maybe fall in love with theatre too. Worst case, show them a good TV adaptation. The book can come afterwards!
“And if you’re not in this time, we’ll burn your house down, and chuck your parcel on top of the flames…”
Wondering how the US hospitality industry is doing these days.
