I can't imagine what the conversations are going to be at The Star this week regarding the Cowboys defense and Matt Eberflus.

They will likely be very difficult and awkward.

But I mean... the situation is what it is.

Holy crap Sam LaPorta!

The Dallas Cowboys offense is one that deserves to win a lot of football games.

Unfortunately their defense is so bad that it has created an untenable balance for everything.

Rico Dowdle essentially declared he would have a big day against the Dallas Cowboys and fully backed that up with his play on the field.

I respect it so much. www.bloggingtheboys.com/dallas-cowbo...
Rico Dowdle trolled the Cowboys
Rico Dowdle got the last laugh against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys had a golden opportunity to get above .500 on Sunday and blew it.

Join me now to discuss this dumb team that we all are cursed by.

I agree with (what seems like) literally everyone that Brian Schottenheimer called a horrible final possession for the Cowboys at Carolina.

But the offense has to be PERFECT for the team to win. Any mistake (which that was) is exacerbated by them being awful.

The Dallas Cowboys are absolutely wasting one of the better offenses and quarterback performances they have had in some time.

It is a crime against roster construction.

Failure from the front office. www.bloggingtheboys.com/dallas-cowbo...
Cowboys at Panthers third quarter update: Dallas up entering final quarter 24-20
Here is what happened in the third quarter of Sunday’s Cowboys/Panthers game.

The Dallas Cowboys are a joke.
rjochoa.bsky.social
OBVIOUSLY the Cowboys offense was disgusting on purpose so they can let the Panthers score and then go score and go for two to win the game

Wow I respect the 4D chess from Schotty here, only possible explanation imho

The Dallas Cowboys defense is an indictment against football.

George Pickens has a touchdown in 5 straight games for the Dallas Cowboys.

He is the first player since CeeDee Lamb (2023) to have a streak of such length.

Prior to that the last instance was Dez Bryant (Dez did it in 2012 AND 2013).

They will probably be even more valuable in hindsight-

But as the Cowboys currently trail by 3 I am very thankful that Brian Schottenheimer went for it on 4th and 4 in the first half.

Those extra four points mean a lot at the moment.

This is where the Cowboys defense is (beyond the obvious) hurting the entire team.

When the offense isn't perfect everything has the potential to fully fall apart.

This is a massive possession for the defense coming up.
rjochoa.bsky.social
Donovan Ezeiruaku's punch out is going to get lost in that play because Carolina retained the ball and there was a WHAT ARE YOU DOING lateral

But it was really nice.
rjochoa.bsky.social
It is important to note that Brian Schottenheimer took a risk in going for the 4th and 4 that he did.

But he very clearly holds trust in his offense. That disposition led a touchdown.

Those are the moments. Those are the differences.

Fantastic few moments there for Dallas.

Absolutely love the whole sequence there from the Cowboys and specifically from Brian Schottenheimer.

Schotty's greatest strength is arguably reading his people and he empowered the offense to go for that 4th and 4.

Elite.

Panthers RB Rico Dowdle has 65 yards on 9 carries against the Cowboys at the moment.

7.2 yards per carry.
rjochoa.bsky.social
Of course Tet McMillan's first career touchdown came against the Dallas Cowboys.
rjochoa.bsky.social
I didn't put a lot of stock into Rico's "buckle up" comment. Felt benign to me.

But my word he is making good on it, however he intended it.

Greg Olsen is such a teacher during NFL broadcasts.

The gap between him and the second-best color analyst in the game (whoever you think it is) is massive.
