half-watching Penny SnapCube’s vod. Saw the rival use Chikorita when Penny had Tepig, and was halfway thru thinking about how kinda disappointed I was that they’re still having the rival use the starter weak to yours… but then he ALSO sent in Totodile and I was like WAIT NEVER MIND? IT’S GOOD NOW?

I haven’t looked into Pokemon Legends Z-A basically at all because… well the state of Scarlet and Violet sorta dampened my interest in mainline Pokémon in general lol, but now that I’m seeing that Z-A isn’t ugly as sin like ScarVio was, I’m actually a little interested now lmao

Disgaea 1 PC is the first game I got on Steam in 2016 or whatever, and it’s the Steam game w/ my highest playtime (like 300 hours lol), so maybe saying that I *might* prefer Phantom Brave’s gameplay means smth? or maybe not, idk ig I probably mostly played Disgaea for the story/characters anyway lol

I finally got Phantom Brave (pc) recently after having it on my “looks-cool,-I’ll-get-it-eventually” mental list for years and years. started playing a little and the gameplay kinda rules so far, and I feel like I might even come to prefer it to Disgaea 1 (pc)’s gameplay lol?

Even though it doesn’t seem to have been “hyperfixation” material for me (tho tbf the hyperfixation part of my brain seems to be malfunctioning lately), I still think OFF is very good and I like it. Much to think about. I super get it now. I can now recognize its DNA in the games it inspired :)

Feels weird to say about a game that was trying something new, but as a whole the game still felt generic (to me)? The story and characters felt… empty, idk. I appreciate the gameplay idea, but it unfortunately didn’t interest me enough to make up for the rest. MAN I wish I liked it more, sorry lol

I was just reminded that I got to the part right before the end of Echoes of Wisdom, stopped, and then forgot to keep playing lol. I’ve been meaning to finish it, but. man. I don’t dislike it, but the further I got, the more I was like… there really isn’t much substance here after all, huh. …oh.

btw I’m kinda put off (lol) by OFF fans bc I’ve seen some say “oh the entire remake soundtrack is So Bad” and like…? But all the songs I’ve heard are great? Are these people… okay?? I get being upset that the og songs can’t be used, but rejecting every new song bc of that… imagine being so joyless 💀

this song kinda rules by the way. obviously not saying that just because Toby Fox made it or anything silly like that, doesn’t affect my opinion either way, I didn’t even realize this one was a Toby Fox song until I looked it up lol. anyway I think it’s cool. …also it sort of reminds me of PMD :)

At the beginning of OFF I had a hard time properly vibing with it for some reason, but now that I’ve gotten through Zone 2 I think I can say for sure that I’m into it now. i mean don’t ask me to coherently explain what’s going on but I’m invested anyway lmao

yeaa it’s out :) the demo didn’t grab me as much as I hoped, but I saw the full game was on sale recently, so I got it anyway bc I want to understand its appeal and influence (and to get more familiar with rpg maker game design in general, for reasons lol)
