I'm Steve Dillon (and my wife Tracy) run a small farm in SW Florida. Raising Organic Vegatables and Herb Seedings and plan on starting a CSA in the area. We raise sheep for Wool and breeding stock.
We put the mom and lambs out on weed patrol. Spanish needle and Caesarweed. The Barbados did great, but wooly lamb pixel came back a porcupine of Spanish needle seeds. Two days later it rained and we worried she would become a chia pet.
Without evidence or facts I would say that at the lobbying and money levels the right is for glyphosate because it makes more crops and money. The left worried about what it’s doing to environment. At the consumer level it’s totally mixed. The contrails, govt killing gardens , is right.
what I hate about this repost is that it is ‘the left’ fighting this. Why must it all come down to red/blue states. At my azure standard pickup this week, 90% republicans picking up all organic food to avoid glyphosate, GMOs and big ag. But it is the left against glyphosate??
Back in the long ago, when MTV played music videos, that video would have a room full of college dorm boys mesmerized. Oh and the video also had some music.
You had put without ruining the grass, but with what we have, I would rotary till it, then box blade or landscape rake it. But you would need to reseed afterwards
I won a dog bed in the shape of a fuzzy lamb at bingo on Tuesday. It has a little head and all. I don’t have a dog but lots of lambs.
Looking forward to running into town and having a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte, then headed to the mall for shopping. Will post a haul video this afternoon.
IT is my day job, when covid hit I realized that fully remote was going to be the new normal, so I left the city where the jobs were, and bought a farm 4 years ago. Absolutely loving it
Many repair kits have been used here. The stupid aluminum ends that weld on to brass are the worst
You can't lead a horse to water, but you can get a sheep to follow you to the end of the world with a bucket of treats.
Have you called police and building security?
Sorry we missed it, we were up in Gainsville for the Small Ruminant short course. Another great UF teaching event.
Been there, and tractor goes from a little warm to forced timeout very quickly :)
After a few times, I've trained myself that 'a little warmer than normal' means to go clean the grill.
So we don't have kochia, but have cogon grass. We are currently mowing, tilling and then planting Harry Indigo which out competes it.
From this article, Bayer, which makes tons of money on glosophate, has this alternative: www.cropscience.bayer.ca/articles/far...
Good Morning, would you have any treats on you?
Our oven isn’t nearly level enough for half that many layers, and engineering marvel, that cake is.
Just a minute of relaxation as the May lambs enjoy a cool evening. They were just so happy that spontaneous jumping just happened.
The other sheep are too polite to file a protest, but complain about her cheating amongst themselves. Delilah claims somehow that it is safety equipment.
I just saw the shoes and thought drum brakes, but then looking at the rotors it has both. I have a 1995 s-10 (not currently running) with rear drums. I’ve had it since new but it has a few more weekends of work than I have time right now.
Drum brakes are a rare skill these days
We hang raincoats on the wall, also a cause to stop and be cautious. As in Star Wars ‘it’s a trap!!!’
Do you get the Front Lift only trucks also. Way jacked up in front and the rear at normal? I guess I’m getting too old to see the greatness that they have done
Orlando says "Hi, whats your name"
At our local rodeo, they have a fun event. They fill the ring with children under 10(12?) years old, they then let 4 calves into the ring with a red flag tied to them. The children run after the calves, who are much faster, eventually some kids grab the flags and get a prize.
So having some fun with the phone. Slow motion sheep sprint. Delilah takes the win as usual, she aggressively stakes out her starting position to be first off the line and then uses her 360 spinning propeller tail for extra speed. #SmallFarmLife #SkySheep
