And I haven't had anyone express privacy concerns when asking for their tax paperwork information (W-9s, etc.). Anyone who contracts is very used to providing a W-9.

A W-8BEN isn't something you need to file, but, yes, you need to file a 1099-NEC for any US contractor you hire for over $600 of work (UNLESS it is through their own non-LLC company, as then it would be a B2B transaction).

I'd consult with a tax advisor if you have any concerns
