that recent "Go Fetch!" short is probably the best he's just looked in 3D in general. i think, everything here looks like it was drawn first, which feels true to the character

gonna sound so funny. spongebob's NASB2 model is i think the only in-game spongebob model i've seen that tries to recreate his mouth shape in 3d properly. this is a sticking point i've realized i had about sponge models

does reflect what nintendo is for going with model wise, which is a stronger adherence to the character's 2D art. Pikachu is leaning moreso into modern art traits whereas Mario and DK kinda adhere to some of their older 2D looks, which is an interesting difference in vision between TPC and nintendo

my general stance is i don't love the current pikachu model much either, i don't think it's been as cute and fat as it used to since like the gamecube. so i think at the very least i can appreciate them going in a new direction instead of a pale imitation of what it used to be

this generally reflects how 2D art does pikachu now, i think there'll be a lot of discussion on pikachu in particular but i'll say generally a lot of pokemon look better in their official 2D art, so on the whole i think this is a good sign for models in this series generally

this episode is still incredibly funny by itself and Jay Sherman is kinda moreso retrofitted to be a character to make Homer self-conscious about himself but it's so funny how differently he's presented in this specific simpsons episode

the Mario Land duology are really funny. Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Bowser are completely absent, and we get quirky Mario regulars Wario and Daisy introduced within them. Mario Land 2 is lowkey like a top 5 Mario to me on a good day
