A very “un-shy” Connecticut warbler found in the Trinity Church graveyard today (and the last few days.) It’s just a small stretch of land that you might think was an unlikely bird haven…you’d be wrong 🧡
Verizon Plaza is a thin area stretching between 41st @ 42nd St. just west of 6th Ave. This Yellow-breasted Chat has been frustrating and delighting photographers there for the last five days. The eyering and supercilium (eyebrow) make it quite distinguishable from the Common Yellowthroat.
What a blessing all of our little NYC parks are for these birds in need of a respite. A Common Yellowthroat, an Ovenbird, and a Grey Catbird all in Bryant Park today 💚

My very first male Ruby-throated Hummingbird by the Seep at the Loch Walking Path in Central Park. Quite elusive and hard to get a bead on…i.e., 20 seconds in the jewelweeds and disappearing for 20 minutes.
I finally made it to the New York Historical Museum to see the Flaco exhibit! So touching to see these awesome testimonials. Most of us remember when Flaco appeared on 5th Ave to an admiring crowd. Beautiful 🧡
