I laugh when people say that their new kitty hasn't warmed up to them in weeks/months as if there were some rule about it.

Willy needed years to really open up, and I was happy to give him a safe home and plenty of food.

I live to serve. 😍

He was a very handsome kitty that hardly anyone else ever saw because he was hiding so often. He did like a former SO of mine, but other than that, friends called him my "mythical third cat." 🙂

"Trump’s Addiction to Watching Fox Is Killing American Democracy"

Our country is falling apart because one old man, Trump advisers and former administration officials say, won’t stop ‘yelling’ at his TV, writes Zeteo's @swin24.bsky.social:

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

People are spontaneously posting up near any laborers or street vendors they spot. Just saw a rapid responder guarding a man working on a building exterior. Many things are terrible today but lord, this stuff matters.

There are a tremendous number of ICE watchers out in Rogers Park this afternoon after some early morning abductions.

People are guarding churches and patrolling alleyways. Ran into Alderperson Hadden. First timers tell us they're primed and ready to use their whistles.

Now I'm sweetly sad for all the ones no longer with us.

We never stop missing them, do we?

Hugs to you from our fur family - Milly kitty and her silly dog brother Winston:

She was just the most polite and gracious kitty. She was the caregiver kitty too. If you didn't feel well (person, cat, or dog), she'd snuggle up and give you a good wash.

It helped. 💕

I'm so sorry about your outside kitties. We do the best we can according to their inclinations.

My Willy was a semi-feral rescue. Spent years hiding & worrying about food. Finally blossomed in his last years which was bittersweet. He passed in 2022, at about 18 or 19.

My Queen Emma was a one-eyed black kitty. Didn't seem to slow her down at all, she was the best bug hunter!

Awww. Gotta love the Cat Distribution System!

I've had as many as three at a time, currently just one, Princess Milly the first. She's a good sweet/spicy combo, and sooooo soft.

In Chicago, four vehicles descended and eight ICE agents moved in to kidnap a child.

She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

This is not about immigration enforcement.

It's about terrorizing Americans.

This government is a well-oiled machine that’s definitely not suffering from internal power struggles hastily papered over as technical mistakes
The employees "were sent incorrect
notifications, which was fixed last night and this morning with a technical correction," a senior administration official said. "Any correction has already been remedied."

💚That deep sadness you feel, the irritability, anger, and numbness. It’s grief. Grief for who we were. Grief for who we could have been. Grief for the loss of CDC as we knew it and all that means for so many.

Be kind to yourself. Be patient. It’s ok to grieve. 💚

No idea. Found it uncredited on several other sites, still looking for someone to credit.

I'm not - found it uncredited on several other sites/pages. I'd love to be able to credit the maker but haven't found anything yet.

Some have said it's AI, which it very well could be.

Texas is preparing emergency resources for wildfires and floods. The Texas National Guard should be THERE — not in Illinois.

We stand ready to support their return home so they are best positioned for helping Texans respond to any natural disasters.
