On 04 OCT 2025, RFS Grad (575) was hit by a Ukrainian drone on Lake Onega while transiting to the Caspian Sea. Severe engine damage left it inoperable. The strike highlights Russian inland route vulnerabilities and Ukraine’s extended drone reach (~1,000 km).

Russian-flagged cargo vessel Lady D (IMO 9349289) is now underway in the Western Mediterranean at 9.1 knots after a brief stop in Oran. Given its proximity to the Algerian naval base at Mers El Kebir, further analysis is needed to assess if military cargo or equipment was loaded or offloaded.

Russian-flagged cargo vessel Lauga (IMO 9111060) is currently navigating off the French coast en route to Saint Petersburg. Recent course adjustments suggest an effort to avoid worsening weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay while maintaining progress toward its destination.

Vessel LADY D (IMO 9349289, Russian-flagged) departed Oran (Mers El Kebir) after a brief stopover at the military port. Nature of the visit remains undisclosed — no declared cargo operations. Lack of destination AIS data. Given the port of call, a military-related cargo is strongly suspected.
