Lovely start to the week - reading online with my buddy Z, cleaning the flat, co-hosting a Godly Play online session with Alison Summerskill , watching MasterChef Australia, and then a friend coming round for supper.
Double jab day - Covid & flu. How to fill my time until then - cleaning, reading, or praying for the 10am announcement?
Thought it was a quiet few days - ha!
Yesterday - morning communion, day conference, Governing Body meeting.
Today - long chat with a friend, lunchtime communion, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, Godly Play zoom
T'moro - reading buddy online, coffee with parishioner, flu & COVID jab
Anti social behaviour! Mr G I applaud you 😂👍
25 years ago today I was ordained as a deacon.
Much as I've loved this last week travelling the country (Northampton, Cambridge, Exeter), it's nice to be sat on my sofa, pink gin in hand, TV on, and no need to get in the car for a long while.
I've spent more time in my car this week than in my flat! Northampton Tuesday/Wednesday, Cambridge Friday/Saturday, now off to Sheldon Community Sunday-Tuesday.
Save the date!
The IACS (International Association for Children's Spirituality) Conference will be held at Christ Church University, Canterbury, 13-16 July 2026.

How exciting! Have a wonderful time. I hope there'll be time to explore as well as work.
This shop (Fara Books Teddington) has all children's books priced at £2 (though a few bigger, hardbacks are £3).
Our local charity bookshop has started having open evenings for teachers to come and (with limited budget) raid their shelves.
A real treat to still be in bed at 7.30 on Sunday morning, and to decide where to worship. St Stephen's is going to be where I head - All Age Worship at 10.30.
Happy Monday!
Admin - done.
Welcome back letter to school - done
Joined a new Children's Ministry adventure

Meeting for tomorrow morning cancelled (by them, not me)

Settling down for a pleasant Sunday evening:
Shipping Forecast Prom on the radio
Glass chilling in the freezer
Ingredients for a White Lady. Cocktail prepped
Roast chicken and vegetables waiting to be assembled
Elly Griffiths novel on my lap
Iced coffee by my side
No, I didn't need another mug, but this £2.70 beauty from Sainsbury's Habitat range is bringing me huge joy as I sip my morning tea.
Off to see #GoodNightOscar at the Barbican ( my least favourite venue to get to)
Midweek treat - snagged a yellow label 'finest' gammon joint, which is happily roasting, and will be accompanied by egg and chips. Then lots of leftovers for the coming week.... Nom nom
