Great joy singing at the #TowerofLondon on Sunday with #WonenInHarmony choir as part of their December choirs event. We wassailed a good wassail & were delighted when a couple of tower ravens joined in (in the alto2 range we feel). [Images of a grouped choir in brightly colored scarves & a raven]
Late night shopping: we ran free Nativity crafts, a toastie bar, dress-up nativity with stable to create festive photos, glittered faces, hosted the #WomenInHarmony choir, put new Nativity figures in the memorial garden & enjoyed a great procession of light finale. #latenightshopping #Christmas
[ALT: Procession formed up by a black wood lychgate outside All Saints' Brightlingsea, two ministers in front, various mayors and dignitaries behind with the banner of the Cinque Port Liberty of Brightlingsea.]
More info below.
On Monday of this week, I was involved in the #historic Choosing Day for the #Deputy of the #CinquePortLiberty of #Brightlingsea. Always a fascinating occasion & great to hear how much money was raised for #charity in the past year. Good to celebrate new freemen & new Deputy Ian Werngren.
#Advent wools in. Purple candle lit. O Come, O Come Emmanuel sung. Countdown begun. The Church year begins anew. Have a blessed Advent.

'Tis the season to #recycle.... seaglass #Christmas trees made with our Teens2Twenties group at Church & a gorgeous wreath made with recycled plastic by my very talented future daughter-in-law. Do any of you include recycled elements in your Christmases? Would love more ideas.
#16DaysOfActivismAgainstGenderBasedViolence #RedChair

The RED CHAIR is back in Church.

Gender based violence kills a woman every 10 mins.

We place an empty chair for the missing women.

Pray. Remember. Act.

Happiness is a purring #cat at the end of a long shift in a chilly garage.

[ALT: One man and his cat. My 19 year old son after work in a red hoodie, long hair tied back, cradling his black and white cat Venus like a baby. She has wrapped her paws around his arm. They do this most days.]
Happy to have a conversation about this. @curiouswilds.bsky.social is even better though :-)
Autumn in my churchyard. So many colours! A carpet of beautiful endings. #It'sTheLittleThings

[Pictures are Autumn leaves of various tree species in oranges, browns & golds, & my feet and walking staff as I walk over them - Alt text is not working right for me in this platform, not sure why]

Risk assessing #ForestChurch for falling tree limbs (thanks, storm Bertie). Verdict: portable firepit, different location, and on we go! #StuffNotTaughtAtTheologicalCollege. Let's hope #StirUpSunday does not apply to the location & angle of our 7.5 acre churchyard's many beloved & venerable trees.
Doing #prayerspace at #Vocations day in @chelmsdio.bsky.social. Wonderful conversations & reflections. We never stop being #called. @bishcolchester.bsky.social's advice: 1. Aim low (humility), 2. give up (what will you relinquish if God asks?) & 3. have a coffee (because being with others helps).
Lord, you are huge.
I am a speck.
Thank you for stooping down to check
That all is well in my small space.
Is this what the Bible means by grace?

Levitical law: mould/rot in a house? Everything out, strip out affected areas & if it returns, demolish the house.
Jesus in the Gospels: cleanses Temple, returns to find it back as it was, prophesies destruction, "not one stone left upon another."
CofE on Safeguarding Sunday: food for thought....?
What do this morning's CofE lectionary readings, Safeguarding Sunday, scandal in the CofE, the OT rules about mould in houses, exile & Jesus cleansing then prophesying the destruction of the Temple have in common? www.facebook.com/share/p/15Gs...

Love this! I do weird stuff at funerals I take all the time. Recent faves: 1) asked to end the service with solemnity then pop my head back in and shout "Sausages!" 2) exiting to recording of the motor of the deceased favourite car revving, 3) flying a pirate flag from the church tower.
Hello BlueSky! Here on pilgrimage from the site formerly known as Twitter. So far, I'm enjoying the view. Please be patient with me as I learn the ropes....
