I like going for walks in the woods at my favorite rustic park in Minnesota. All photos are my own, with no editing and no AI. I'm not comfortable doing reposts, so I do them rarely. This Minnesotan stands with Canada. Slava Ukraini.

Is it just me or has this week been a month long?
A view of a muddy creek bank covered with brown leaves. Upper left corner has a cloudy sky with a stray leafless tree branch. Lower left corner has the creek which is reflecting green trees. Right side has a tree trunk and green trees and plants, with a few yellow leaves scattered throughout. September 30, 2025
I looked at pictures from a year ago and the timing is comparable. But compared to 30-40 years ago, it's definitely climate change.
MN Wildflowers website lists 4 types of sumac and the one I posted is Rhus typhina (Staghorn Sumac). "Like Smooth Sumac, it is not poisonous and the bristly red hair covering on the seed clusters are filled with tart ascorbic acid, that are easily rendered into a sumac-ade drink" if you add sugar.
I think Austin Powers went a similar direction. 😀
The maple leaves are starting to change to their autumn colors.

This has a little bit of everything. Love it!
Those reds are definitely striking. Thank you
This was the only goldenrod still blooming at the park last week.
