It’s my honor to support them in building a more prosperous, food-secure future for all.
Today is World Food Day, an international call to action for global, sustainable food security. I’m proud to represent a variety of agricultural communities in Maryland’s 6th who work tirelessly to provide nutritious food for the families in our district, state, and country.
We must end this shutdown the right way, protect these already-appropriated funds, and deliver for our local communities.
I’ve fought hard to secure Community Project Funding for essential projects in Maryland’s 6th — for public safety, community health, and vital infrastructure. A shutdown puts those federal dollars on hold, and a partisan CR puts them in jeopardy.
Happy birthday to Maryland’s fearless leader, @govwesmoore.bsky.social! I’m always grateful for his leadership, friendship and commitment to “leaving no one behind.” I hope today is filled with blessings and great memories with Dawn and the family. Sending my best!
OMB’s RIFs aren’t just reckless — they’re a betrayal to the American people. As a voice for NCI, NIST, NIH, Ft. Detrick, and the National Fire Academy in Maryland’s 6th, I know how our country relies on these federal institutions, and I’m standing up against these cruel-hearted cuts.
Federal workers are essential to our country’s innovation, prosperity, and service to its people — there is nothing “great” about punishing them for a political dispute they had no part in.
I was delighted — but not surprised — to hear that Garrett Regional Medical Center was named one of the 386 cleanest hospitals in the country according to Becker’s Hospital Review. It’s always a pleasure to visit CEO Mark Boucot and GRMC — the only Maryland hospital to earn this distinction.
Garrett Regional Medical Center named among nation’s cleanest hospitals
OAKLAND -- Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 386 cleanest hospitals in the United States—and the only hospital in Maryland

Over the past 30 years, they’ve grown from one repair shop to seven full-service locations across Frederick County, working on a community level and truly treating customers like family. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
As we continue working towards peace and stability in the region, we must honor the memory of those lost in this war and ensure that Hamas is permanently disarmed.
I am heartened that the remaining living hostages held by Hamas have been freed! I pray for their safe return home as they begin the long journey of healing.
As a farmer’s daughter and a Member of @houseagdems.bsky.social I know their importance all too well — their work underpins our economies, feeds our families, and drives our community culture.  Every day it is a privilege to be a voice for the ranches, orchards, and farms in Maryland’s 6th.
From Garrett to Montgomery County and everywhere in-between, this National Farmers Day I’m celebrating the vibrant rural communities in Maryland’s 6th.
If ACA tax credits aren’t extended in this CR, Marylanders could see their health premiums jump from $621 to $1,711 a month — a $1,089 hike for the same plan. Our families can’t afford this spike in costs.
This is not acceptable, and I will fight for the more than 35,000 federal employees and active duty service members in Maryland's 6th and across the state.
There are laws the OMB Director must follow before implementing any federal Reduction in Forces (RIFs). Instead, he chooses to use social media–during a government shutdown–to intimidate our public servants.
For the families who depend on premium tax credits, the devoted service members, and the 35,000 federal workers in Maryland’s 6th, I’m working to reopen our government the right way — the health and well-being of our country hangs in the balance.
You can’t fake showing up. Right now, Democrats are showing up — and standing up — for our federal workers and service members, for affordable health care, and for the incredibly American value of protecting our neighbors.
It was my pleasure to visit, and I’m proud to bring their mission to Congress and fight for accessible health care for all in Maryland's 6th.
With a 24-hour call center, outpatient services, and a Walk-In Crisis Care Center among many other offerings, the Mental Health Association of Frederick County is changing the dialogue on mental health and offering support to our families in a comprehensive, meaningful, and adaptable way.
To stand in solidarity with our government workers, I requested my Congressional salary be withheld for the duration of this shutdown. I plan on donating my pay to nonprofits within the 6th District that are addressing food insecurity for families impacted by cuts to SNAP and other federal programs.
