It's such a powerful metaphor for the AIDs epidemic and the sense of loss. Very different to the previous films but still the third best thing in the franchise and it's miles better than whatever the fourth thing is.

I disagree on it being a bad movie. The Assembly Cut I feel does a good (and frankly underrated) job overall.

Now Alien Resurrection, that's a bad movie!
