You know, the reason I like drawing monsters so much is that there's so many angles to come at them from. Representations of fears, trauma, the misunderstood, or that your perceptions can be misguided. I love my little creations, and the odd little mishmash style of furry and horror I have.

Did this one about a month ago. I've found that the monster/horror artwork I make never gets as much attention as my furry work, but I have a lot of fun making it and I'm not stopping.

A bipedal creature that has digitigrade legs and a vaguely animal-like head. It lacks eyes, and is abnormally thin. It walks through a forest at night, holding a crow in one hand while gently laying a finger on it with the other. The crow looks up at the creature, and were it to have eyes, it'd be looking back down at the crow. There appears to be a bond between them.

Felt like drawing one of my old characters, Maya (a character and species I made back in like 2018) and my sona Rego. :D

I got a lot of old characters that I really should draw some more. I should also draw more of her species since I like em so much.

Below is a description of Maya's species. You can skip it if you don't want to read/listen through it all. it's rather long winded.

Maya is a Bathanian. It is a species I made many years ago, though have somewhat neglected. They are on average around 7-9 feet tall, are rather thin with some variation, have long necks, and their heads are mostly a boney structure with one or more cartilaginous structures that protrude from the tops/sides/backs of the head. Their head shapes are somewhat rounded with a sort of flat "beak" that is somewhat reminiscent of a toucan's beak, though it is taller and mostly a thin structure.

There are multiple vertical openings on either side, along with an opening along the curve of the "jaw." The "beak" is hollow, and if you viewed it from the bottom it looks like a mask that is open from the bottom. They have a mouth where you would expect it on the primary structure of the head. Both the vertical openings, and the one along the "jaw" lead to the interior just as the bottom does.

The eye-like structures are actually empty eye sockets that have a persistent blackness that obscures your ability to see into them. There is a "pupil" in either "eye" that can change shape to reflect mood (I was so original back then.) Maya serves as the baseline of the species. She has no unique coloration (greyish skin, yellowish bone, white "pupils", etc) She has two cartilaginous "hair things" that come from the rear of either side of her head.

I'd say solution is to use linux, but huion tablets have even more issues on linux. Idek how much of the proprietary software loaded onto a modern thinkpad is necessary for basic function, so unfortunately I can't be much help.

Thinkpads used to be good, but they got enshitified like everything else unfortunately. In my experience (almost 10 years using huion tablets) the tablet drivers have some issues, but I've never seen that error. Could be some conflict with how the manuf drivers are interacting with the tablet.

There's something so intensely satisfying when your body aches due to being ill and you have the biggest stretch of your life. Talking body is spasming and your brain sorta shuts off for a moment. If only all my stretches felt that good. Still not worth the price of admission though.
