I've heard that one is like 10/10. Need to get to that as well.
I find that is when I enjoy books the most lol
I did not care for it. The most underwhelming and frankly basic thing she's ever written.
I enjoyed relevation space. Need to get back to the series.
October reading recap. 9 books. Favorite being White Noise and By Night in Chile #booksky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

Halfway through and this is a straight masterpiece. #booksky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ
It works for many. I have many thoughts but the most obvious reason for me is the constant religious jargon and too heavy handed on the plot. Maybe that changes in the second book but likely not. It's good. Not great.
Not sure if I can recommend this or not. A first contact story told by the sole survivor of a Church's mission to another planet. Often sterile in descriptions and washed of anything explicit. I could see this featured in a religious bookstore. #booksky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿช

Coming next month: The 50th anniversary edition of The Wind's Twelve Quarters!

This design nods back to the original hardcover jacket, which was by Patricia Voehl. The new cover is designed by Jamie Lynn Kerner.

Harper Perennial publishes this edition on November 18th.
I am enjoying blindsight but the writing style is interesting. He likes to talk a lot in a sort of 3rd person sarcasm to explain elements of the world or narrative. The world is terrifying though.
What an awesome gift.

๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ I've been told. Been on my list for a long while.
I think* this is my final 10 before the end. I may swap out a couple titles depending on my mood. What do you think? #booksky ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ซ

I have a serious problem. #booksky ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š
Book 46: The Butcher Boy by Patrick McCabe is a descent into madness by way of obsession. If the wasp factory was written by Cormac McCarthy. Like Child of God but in Ireland and mixed with a coming of age like tale. Truly disturbing. Highly recommend.
