Reading Better States now has a cover! Very grateful to Silvestre Santiago Pejac ("Pejac") for allowing us to use his arresting image, "Le Bateau Ivre." Forthcoming with Fordham University Press in late 2025!

"I say yes because I want to support my students and colleagues. I feel obligated to “pull my weight" but it’s become increasingly clear to me that, in doing so, I’m also propping up and validating a system that is austere, inefficient, exploitative, fetishistically hierarchical, and exclusionary."

Critical infrastructure scholars - who first used the term "soft infrastructure"? The discussion of hard and soft infrastructures is ubiquitous at this point but where did it come from? @liquidperson2.bsky.social @jessicahurley.bsky.social @jeffreyinsko.bsky.social @jamieljones.bsky.social

Anyone know where I can find an English subtitled copy of Amina Weira's film Anger in the Wind? Only found French so far. #complit #africanstudies #film #filmstudies

Has anyone already done an #envihum starter pack? Recent energy and connections on this platform are great but I haven't seen this on my feed yet.

Haven't been on Bluesky in so long but given the dumpster fire nightmare we are now in, guess it's really time to abandon the other place. Hello again!

So, after years of hard work, stress, imposter syndrome and other stops on the first-book rollercoaster, this is happing! My book is going to be a thing in the world! Feeling slow-onset happiness and much gratitude as it sinks in. Thanks to all who helped me get here.

Reading/teaching Woman at the Edge of Time for the first time. Awesome book, grim, hopeful and super interesting! But LOLed at this: "We don't think telling people what to do is a real world skill." 😂

My book is out! I was waiting to post a pic holding it IRL, but alas, it is yet to arrive. I hope you will check it out, and ask your library to buy a copy! www.vanderbiltuniversitypress.com/978082650617...

Waiting is the worst. I'm in a period between projects, and waiting for reviews. Can't opt out of working, but also not totally focused. Recommendations for what to do/how to approach this kind of time?? 😩
