The irony of the Kemi Badenoch speech to what left of the Tory party is staggering. The reason the nation is in such a mess right now, isn't down to the Labour Party. It's down to 14yrs of Tory disaster and Brexit, which it instigated. We are poorer due to both.

The 18yr old me, back in 80s, in my home town of Selby Yorkshire at the height of the miners strike, would never have believed that I would ever have agreed with anything Heseltine had to say. Yet here I am now, nostalgicly admiring the old school Tories of Clarke, Major & Heseltine.
