Federal agents are staging a massive operation downtown near Canal street. Show of force with reportedly dozens of agents from agencies including ICE, FBI, IRS, DEA, etx
Not sure if this zine’s been mentioned, but Paul Cripple gave what’s believed to be his final (and very brief) interview in ‘Down the Punk Rock Highway’ by Jared Forman. Just search the title if you want a copy, it’s that easy.

Want Reagan Youth records? Just search “Reagan Youth records” online — tons of options. But for the real deal, go straight to Cleopatra Records: cleorecs.com/search?q=rea... Thanks for the support. Peace, love, and anarchy! 🏴
Reminder: ‘The Complete Youth Anthems for the New Order’ & ‘A Collection of Pop Classics’ are still on all major streaming platforms. With ‘Punk Rock New York’ MIA, these two are the go-to — featuring tracks like ‘New Aryans’ & ‘Jesus Was a Communist’.

Peace, love & anarchy 🏴
Here’s a flyer that reads ‘Regan Youth’, a misspelling that drove Dave Insurgent up the wall. He couldn’t stand when people got the name of his band wrong.

This is probably the third documentation of a creator on YouTube telling the Reagan Youth story. Props to them, but there’ll soon be an official one.

Paul wasn’t perfect, but he had real heart, true civility, and genuine integrity. He cared deeply like the true anarchist he claimed to be. He didn’t speak truth to power to impress fans. He said what he believed because that’s exactly where he stood.

That interview reminded me of two folks who recently said Paul was their friend & that he only talked about resilience to impress fans. One even said he tolerated that “nonsense” because Paul was a “nice guy.” Honestly, if Paul heard that shit, he’d probably call them out.
The other day I was listening to one of his interviews. When asked about his bandmates’ politics, he said something like, “They didn’t have to know politics, as long as they HATE HATE.” Sadly, there were times they showed that hate
Paul had degrees in both English and History, and he was savvy — sharp as hell with language. He understood the power of words. He was great at bantering on stage and connecting with people without ever dumbing things down.
Won’t go into detail, but it’s been really hard without him. Not just as my partner for nearly 20 years, but because we need more people like him—OG cishet white guys from a hardcore punk rock scene with the guts and clarity to be voices of reason, especially in these dark times.
Just recently, an old friend sent me this photo of Paul posing next to what looks like a sticker on a windshield that says “I really miss Reagan.” With Paul’s death anniversary coming up in a few days it’s appropriate to say that I really miss Paul.
Paul and Dave just wanted to spark a conversation — to challenge religious bigotry and protest a kind of closed-mindedness they saw creeping into the scene. They genuinely thought they were doing something constructive.
