feel on its social status. I don't believe it to be the pinnacle nor do I believe it itself desired to be. Though I find myself loving that aspect of it all as this grand "tutorial".
You got it across !! I didn't mean to hard disagree or anything. I totally agree with this last bit, it's something I think it wants you to grow from and use as a guide to find greater appreciation in works you may have missed out on previously (Higurashi) or future endeavors. I agree with how you
Much like a real person's closed off heart that finds themself incapable of being direct. I think I'd feel differently towards it had I read it later in life, so I can totally agree with your perspective on it.
I don't think it's as flawless as it's made out to be, there's quite a bit I don't agree with personally. It's a simple story that doesn't contribute much new or grand to the sphere. All the while pretending to be far more complicated than it really is.
wants to be understood. Reflecting its own themes through its usage of story-telling. Its abrasiveness feels largely the point, spelling things out so you're unable to misunderstand. I adore how passionate it is, I found myself connecting its specific cry for help on a deeper personal level.
I firmly believe that your opinion on Umineko will heavily rely on how early you read it. It's something everyone needs to hear and so I think it makes for a fantastic entry point into literary analysis. I find myself more accepting of its lack of subtlety as it's a work that desperately
fell for this and never alt f4ed so fast in my life
Yeah, pretty much mostly how I feel about it too.
Sorry!! I was taking it for a little test drive ehehe :P
which I thought was a lot more interesting lol. I'll for sure be keeping all this in mind for HF. Ironically, I think I just found Fate's writing to be a bit more archaic.
His characterization never kept up with his actions and I can totally see this working as a character analysis driven work and the new perspective of each route playing into it could definitely be more interesting to keep in mind when continuing. I think my reaction was primarily fresh of Tsukihime
This does entice me more for sure to finish it. I've been focusing on clearing my backlog before moving onto something new so I'm going to be reapproaching it soon. I remember strongly disliking Fate route because it never felt like enough to me. His response felt like the bare minimum recognition.
I've slacked on finishing Heaven's Feel for like year so things could change but this man receives 0 development no matter how much the story tries telling me he does that I get lost and confused seeing what everyone's general perception of him is. I want to beat him with rocks
I'm not a shirou day supporter simply because i hate him
The love felt towards Kagari and her story is the absolute purest form of exploring the beauty of human connections that I've ever read. The issues I have become trivial compared to everything it has to say that I really can't complain. Rewrite is just very. Pure. in a way I haven't experienced
It leads itself beautifully to Moon.
Kagari was used exceptionally well, I loved her minimal appearances. Not once did the game ever try casting Main Girl energy onto her for the entirety of the first portion of the game and it worked. The reader's driving force gets turned into curiosity. Craving that connection-
I was picking up pretty early on on how often the heroine routes' struggles read eerily similar to Kagari's scenario. For being a character who hardly ever talks you can easily grasp everything you need to know about her through just. human experience.
A lot of it felt bold, but I really liked it and found it refreshing.
I also just love the acknowledgement that humans are not exempt from nature but rather a part of it. Utilizing all of the resources given to you is its own form of love and appreciation. Allowing yourself to flourish and grow for your own well-being rather than maintaining consistency and stagnation
The connection to the constant reiteration that rewriting oneself equates to loss of self, literal selflessness resonates with me as well. It had so much more interesting things to say about selfishness than any other works I've read, you described it perfectly.
I'm definitely going to be thinking about it for a while, I'm still in the process of my brain digesting it.
I loved the culmination of the resolution and everything the game stood for but was burnt out by not finding Terra super enjoyable to read (Esp with how great Moon was), but the more I sit the more it hits in reflection and I'm like. Damn. It's peak I fear and I'll only love it more as time goes on
Time has passed and I do in fact enjoy it more, much like Air 👍 peak fiction
Rewrite feels a lot like Air (not just by being thematically similar, almost as though Rewrite is a reattempt at it) where I think it had good ideas but the way it gets to it isn't the greatest and is something I will undoubtedly come to enjoy further after some time passes. It's interesting
