Why are you treating being a furry or therian like they're some exclusive identity? A therian could call themself a furry if they are in the furry community. I do agree that more therians should introduce themselves as therians but only because introducing ones identity before hobby makes more sense

Im a therian who doesn't call themself a furry because it's not my main interest/hobby. But overlap still exists. There are therians who like anthro animals. Therians shouldn't be excluded from having a hobby.

A Therian could also a be furry and vice-versa. I don't think either communities should be punished because outsiders (and even some insiders) refuse to learn the difference.
