While I'm trying to get used to @bsky.app, I think it's the right time for a reintroduction. I'm currently working in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Salamanca (Spain). I have previously worked at the University of Alcalá, Utrecht, and Oviedo,
Martín Gaite exhibition @ Palacio de la Salina (Salamanca). Junk journaling before it was cool.
This is a masterpiece in literary theory and should be read beyond the Japanese context.//¡que se traduzca al español!

From the archives-- pages from the first issue (1886) of MLN which invited advertisers at $10/page while the journal built a subscription list. The pages of early issues were a hodgepodge of advertisements (mostly for books and language classes), philological notes, and lists of new books.
Sehr richtig, prof. Claudia Jünke! 😊
Uncanny and beautiful. ‘El espíritu de la colmena’, the perfect autumn movie.
And done! Thank you to our lovely colleagues for participating and to my co-convenor, Hannie Lawlor for her perfectionism and her commitment to this project!!!
Hannie Lawlor and I (very enthusiastically) presenting our workshop at the Taylorian @bodleian.ox.ac.uk this morning
In my free time I also did some shopping at @blackwells.bsky.social 😏
Incredibly happy to be back in Oxford! Hannie Lawlor and I are coordinating a workshop on comparative perspectives in contemporary women’s life writing at the Taylorian, @bodleian.ox.ac.uk , and @lmhoxford.bsky.social. Supported by @torchoxford.bsky.social

Desmoralizarte significa, literalmente, quitarte tus valores morales, es la herramienta del poder, no lo consientas, mantengamos alta la moral, hagamos cosas con otras personas.
Why are academic journals shortening and shortening the length of the articles they accept for submission (max 8,000 words)? It’s getting so hard to find one that allows anything longer.
The link between fiction and the reader’s empathetic response is well documented in literary theory and demonstrates the importance of our field in current debates on AI. Take, for example, Booth’s The Company We Keep or Nussbaum’s Love’s Knowledge, two classical texts that should be revisited.
In contrast to AI, which offers responses designed to please users, Barr argued that literature provides a way to recognize individual concerns as part of our shared human condition. www.instagram.com/reel/DM6NpME...

Recently, @drrachelbarr.bsky.social commented about the trend of using ChatGPT as a substitute for therapy.

Mil gracias, Santi. ¡Estamos relativamente cerca!
How I feel after finally getting a tenure-track position (ayudante doctor) at a Spanish university after almost four years of postdoctoral positions and temporary teaching contracts…

Incredibly grateful and happy to continue working at @usaloficial.bsky.social, though.
No one, like Xuan Bello, made me realize the importance of combining a deep knowledge of the Asturian language with a rigorous reading of world literatures. This bilingual edition (Spanish-Asturian) of his poetry attests to his sensitivity and his unique way of seeing the world. Rest in peace.
Yesterday, Hannie Lawlor, Álvaro González Montero, and I presented our panel, ‘Anti/Exemplarity and Life Writing: Transforming the Self and the Social in Contemporary Life Writing in Spanish and Catalan,’ at the International Autobiography Association’s European Conference at @ucoimbra.bsky.social.
