Ok. Rant over. Sorry. I had to get that out of my system.

But despite this long winded nitpicking, I truly did enjoy this first issue and I can't wait for the next one.
Or, at least using those higher level spell slots would be very impractical.
See Invisibility would have been a better choice. She'd have to burn a couple 3rd level spell slots to have the whole group covered. But that's better than all her 6th, 7th, and 8th ones. 9th too if casting on Uggy.
True Seeing is a 6th level, single target spell. Which means Cazrin is at least level 11, because I didn't see her use a scroll. Cool.
But the target of the spell has to be a creature, not an object. And even if she were level 20, she wouldn't have enough spell slots to cast it on everyone.
And finally - and this is a small spoiler for the issue - is how True Seeing was used.

As a DM, I could say the item this was cast on was unlocked by the spell, and that's all well and good.

Not having that knowledge though, this is not how the spell works.
Magic is a bit crazy though, and is used by everyone. So, you don't need to use Draconic for it.

Basically any word or any language can be magical. It's what the words mean to the caster.

These are a few of the books I had ready at hand with examples of English words and phrases translated into Draconic. The oldest one here is from 2008, and I know there are older examples out there.
The most recent one is from this year.
So, this isn't new and it's still being used.
This is where my super nerd ADHD hyper fixation annoys me.
Draconic is its own language. Yes, the characters have equivalents to the English alphabet. But this isn't like Star Wars' Aurebesh where you substitute the characters one for one.
And it's not like it hasn't been widely published either.
The super nerd in me was very interested in the use of Draconic for the spells.
I thought it was fun to translate. I pulled out my own books before I saw the translation key at the back of the issue from @blambot.bsky.social
I just finished reading @gregpak.com DnD Fallbacks comic. And I highly recommend it for anyone who likes the game, the books, swords, and magic.

Full stop. Silly nerd nitpicking follows. But I really liked this book. The story, art, and everything is wonderful.
I'd be ok with these ones spilling out.

dont ya hate it when ya knock over a cursed artifact and creatures from monstrous realms spill forth?
I was playing a solo DND adventure tonight, and it nearly killed me. I sacrificed myself to take out the BBEG and had to roll death saves.

I was feeling good after the first 2. But the next 2 brought me right down. The final roll to determine if I lived or died felt so good when I saw that nat 20.
Really?! Awesome! I'm looking forward to it.
I ducked into a little curiosity shop today and found a mummified tressym.

It was not for sale.

Yeah this would be among my firsts. Him and vladamir from the Anastasia movie, and also papa mouskawitz
Yep. I agree. Hopefully this will be that. But I'm not going to get my hopes up. Because I think it will very likely be a source book or adventure.
A million times this.
TTRPG thoughts:

Running a homebrew setting can really be such an intimate thing. You’re saying to your friends, here’s this world filled with my own imagination, I want to share it with you and if you’re feeling up to it, come join me and create it with me.
I got rid of all my Meta and Twitter stuff a long time ago.
I don't miss it at all.

And although I don't have nearly as many followers on here as the other platforms, the engagement is way better.
But you now have more gravitas. ;)
