It doesn’t bother me personally but having grown up playing online shooters like Halo, I am very happy to not be in a culture like that anymore and think Splatoon could do better. Given the general age of the community, it doesn’t surprise me to see that people don’t make the connection.

The way the internet tracks you and serves you up a depressing feed of all the things you want but can’t have. I gotta get out before I brain rot too hard and lose parts of myself that I value.

All this to say, I will be offline for the foreseeable future. I’ll remain on Discord, YouTube and Twitch - in areas I can control and do the things I actually enjoy the internet for. I am actually fine, I am just at a crossroads in my life and don’t need social media serving me disaster posting.

It sounds so ridiculous in the grand scheme of things but I simply cannot bare the things I see, the things I read. And I think it’s probably worsened by how emotionally stressful my job is too so combined, it feels amplified and engulfs me. I fear it’s not helped by persistent depression either.

I’m struggling so hard with social media atm. Every time I open an app, here or elsewhere, I feel my mood worsen with no way to resolve it. I fear I am simply too soft for the direction we’re heading in and to regain some semblance of humanity, I have to GTFO.
