I had an influx of lots of new followers (thank you!) so thought I should introduce myself.

I'm a freelance proofreader, book blogger and self-proclaimed book hoarder from Gloucestershire.

I'm still active on Instagram (@rachel_reads_1983). Looking forward to connecting with more people on here 💙

We've been saving this little pup for when we thought you all might really need a gold star. And, given the current circumstances, here she is. 13/10

Trust the process, Barry.

And YES! I would absolutely read that!! 🤗
Maybe you've both found your true callings! 🏺
Barry, they're both amazing!!

It's the only way to watch it. There's no way I could watch it weekly. I just desperately try and avoid spoilers and watch the whole thing over a couple of days 🙃
I'm sharing my January wrapup over on Instagram.

Despite being busy with work and binging the heck out of The Traitors, I read quite a lot. There were some exceptional books. Find out which were my favourites on IG ❤️

My review of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by @gradyhendrix.bsky.social is on IG.

If you're looking for a straight-up horror novel then this isn't it, but if you want an anger-inducing and at times heartbreaking story about female rage, then you need to read this.

I've been rubbish at posting on here (and social media in general, tbh) but I'm sharing my review of the amazing The Axeman's Carnival by @catherinechidgey.bsky.social on Instagram, which is set to be one of my top books of 2025 (yes, already).

Better late than never, my November reading wrap-up is on Instagram, where you can see what my standout reads were

Happy December! 🎅❤️

This is your Black Friday reminder that actual book shops can't afford to discount like Amazon and supermarkets do. If you can, get full price books but also a full heart.
My review of Escape for Christmas by #PhillipaAshley is on Instagram as part of the Random Things blog tour.

The perfect book to snuggle up with, #EscapeforChristmas is out now.

Gosh, don't be silly. I'm the lucky one. I've got the best job in the world ♥️
Go for it. I'm too much of a wimp to get a tattoo, but I had a big birthday last year and have since celebrated with 15 new piercings... 😬
I do know. And I know that I am very privileged to know 😂 x
Aaaahhhh. Both BRILLIANT 🙌
Over the last 500 days I've brushed up on my French and learned Spanish and Italian. Thinking I'll just focus on Spanish though.
Good job for attempting it!

Yeah, whilst I think the best way to learn a language is to live in that country and immerse yourself in it, not everyone can do that.

I had next to no knowledge of Spanish and Italian before, and whilst I'm nowhere near proficient, I know a lot more than I did before 😊
I get that. If I've got a quiet day I may do a bit more, but usually it's the bare minimum. (Don't tell Duo though... 😂)
I did French for about 100 days (I did it at school so thought I had a decent basis), then I did Spanish for about a year, and then (for some ungodly reason) I thought it would be a good idea to learn Italian.

I think I might go back to Spanish though.
20 days is still 20 days. Well done 👏
