Delighted and excited to have work published in Bradt's latest anthology South America: an Anthology of Travel Writing. And alongside such incredible names! So grateful.

Hi Nick, I often wonder which plants are okay to pick for mine when I'm out for a walk and the internet just seems to be a black hole of "feed them this and they'll spontaneously combust" kind of advice. Any tips?
On behalf of all animal carers, please stop photographing us cleaning out enclosures when you visit a zoo/farm park/rescue centre. We're just trying to make the animals' home clean and nice before they come back in, and we can't imagine why you want a pic of us covered in straw and poo.

Our intern is not officially on display in that enclosure. He’s just between apartments right now.
What a gorgeous chap

Blond capuchins (Sapajus flavius) are found in a handful of populations along Brazil's Atlantic coast. An estimated 500 mature individuals remain. Losing habitat to coastal development, cattle ranching, & farming; habitats are severely fragmented. Endangered. Photo: Miguelrangeljr/Creative Commons.

If you see a tree in the middle of the road, please be patient as it takes time for them to cross

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚
Incredible, thank you for sharing
Ooh I have 999 followers, that's fun. Wonder who'll be the one to tip it over to a thousand...

Disclaimer: if it's you, I'm afraid you don't win anything other than seeing some more posts about wildlife, guinea pigs and interesting places on your feed. No exchanges or refunds.

There is nothing better than watching these two fuzzy herbivores having an absolute feast in the garden. I've told them I need the grass cut by bedtime.

Oh wow, I'll take that. I think the other guy's reason should probably just pip the post though 😂
The update you've all been waiting for: It was treating poorly hedgehogs. Big thanks to @valewildlife.bsky.social for organising a brilliant first aid course at Dorset Hedgehog Rescue yesterday. I learnt a lot I didn't even know I didn't know! Brilliant.

Real hedgehogs! Spikes and all...
They were surprisingly good at it.
Off to a hedgehog first aid course today. Still not sure what I've signed up to. Am I learning to treat poorly hedgehogs, or teaching them to do CPR?

Will report back.

It's something you don't want to try with lots of people watching 😂 Not the most graceful! Good luck!!!
Ooh I'm doing the same challenge at the moment. Have you heard of Fitbeast resistance bands? You can loop them over the pole and use them to support your weight while you practice. It helps get the right muscles firing!

Very sad news about the passing of Dr Jane Goodall this evening. Such an inspirational woman.

Although I hope her light will radiate through the generations, it's undeniable that the world will be a darker place without her.

RIP after all your efforts and tireless work for our natural world 💚
Something we all need to be reminded of now and again.
No I'm afraid not, something someone threw together on canva and shared on a different platform.
