Heyo I’m Racca, I’m a variety streamer over on twitch.tv/raccaranger. I mostly play Dying Light, Resident Evil, and Tomb Raider.

Some other things I’m likely to ramble about here is Power Rangers, Tokusatsu shows, Movies, Roller Derby and my Motorcycle.
I’ve never spent this much on clothing in my life! Went ahead and ordered the next size up in the jacket and shoes. I don’t want to wait a week for the return to process and then another week for the new ones to get here.
Bummed that I need to send the jacket and shoes back. Especially since the retailers no hassle returns are in fact a hassle since they don’t do direct exchanges apparently. 🫤
Gloves are a perfect fit

Jacket is too small with the thermal and back protection in.

Pants are a bit baggy but I don’t to risk a smaller size that may be too tight.

Shoes are too short for my toes… but aren’t too narrow! Next side up should be perfect.
My winter gear is here! I stg if I have to return any of this I’m going to cry #motosky

I think you’ve fully validated my choice to go with the 4 season jacket. Order has been placed, crossing my fingers that I got the sizing right on my first try!
The sand 5 jacket was on the top of my list but the price is just a little too much for me. The offtrack looks pretty similar, just a little less expensive and more street focused.

How do you like yours when it gets cold?
Oh yeah their heated puffer vest looks so comfy!
The rain layer in that offtrack jacket working as an inner OR outer layer is really appealing. I wish the pants were the same way but they’re just an inner. Their Sand 5 pants work that way so I might get those. The color options match and the styling is pretty similar. More expensive though.
Hoping I can put that same trust in their other stuff because that hasn’t been the case with any of the other brands so far.
I only have the gloves so far. I don’t have a shop near me to go try stuff on at so just always rolling the dice online.. Reviews said to order a size up from their size guide so I did. Way too big, sent them back and got the ones I should have gotten based on guid and they’re a perfect fit.
I’ll have to check those out! I hike too so new thermals were already on the list but I was just gonna grab whatever was cheapest that fits me at Dicks Sporting Goods.
I’d really like to do the new Texas Hill Country BDR X next year too, so I’m still leaning to getting the 4 season suit. The one I’m looking at is more for touring than off-road, boots too eventually. Kinda aligns with my vstrom 650s more “all roads” rather than “off road” capabilities.
I could probably squeeze a heated vest or shirt in there with a thicker hoodie or puffer to get more out of it for sure. I was just looking at the Klim Aggressor eFire Heated Shirt. I don’t just commute though, about once a month I have a 200 mile ride down to my hometown.
I have a mesh scorpion vortex air jacket that has a removable waterproof inner liner. In the city the liner does an ok job helping block the wind down to about 55f if I wear my hoodie as a mid layer. It’s gets really uncomfortable around 40f. It’s unbearable on the highway though
This weeks temps is adding a pro for my “4 season” riding gear pros and cons list.

It’s 52f this morning for my commute to work and it’s going to be around 80f on my way home…
I’ve got a pair of their waterproof cold weather gloves and they’re my favorite! I’m probably going to replace my scorpion summer gloves with some Revits next year too.
I do need to consider having to travel even in our worst weather though. I’m definitely getting more base layers, heated gloves and adding hand guards to my bike to help break the wind.
Our lows in January and February can be around there before sunrise but by the afternoon we’re between 40f and 50f on our coldest days unless there’s a freak weather event. But the majority of the time we’re above 60f during the day all winter.
Plan was originally a waterproof jacket with a thermal liner and at waterproof over-pant with a thermal liner. It just seems like most of those options are either ugly garbage or over my budget.

Probably should have made a decision about this before fall lol.
I made due last year with my mesh jacket with the rain liner in and a mid layer. It was fine on my commute in town but absolutely wouldn’t cut it on a highway. Last year I could also just take my jeep when it was below freezing, I won’t have that luxury this winter.
It just seems like a waste of money to toss like $600 on stuff I can only realistically wear for 1 month of the year maximum. VS getting maybe 4 or 5 months out of the 4 season stuff before it’s too hot again.
