You do not "have" to do recovery. Telling yourself you do will very predictably engage the "parts" of you that fear & resent feeling trapped or controlled.

Remind yourself that trauma recovery is NOT, ever, a "have to" thing-- it's a "protecting what I value" choice.

I've been suiting at many protests this year and for No Kings Oct 18 I'm bike marshalling. Don't risk suit damage but some of these tell you the risk levels before you go.

A few weeks ago there was a #Covid19 outbreak on my Mom’s memory care wing. The whole section was quarantined. Family could still visit but before entering a resident’s room, they were req’d to put on full gowns & gloves. They were even told to remove their shoes. But masks were optional.😡

Another thing regarding mutual aid & who your community is, is a lot of disabled people in particular are very isolated. They're in deep poverty & complete abandonment. Literally. So they hop online to have community. Sometimes it's the only community they have & the only way they can get help.

Coping with the fact that tomorrow is Monday by convincing local strangers to send me pictures of their pets throughout the week.
