Same as Claire. The Will of The Many is a slow start, then takes off but you've got to wait for the next book. May remind you of Red Rising if you've read that.
DCC can be the reading equivalent of a week long bender as it's 7 (so far) books where something is _always_ happening.

In SoF the MC's backstory is revealed as people from his past create trouble in his present, forcing him to squeak out of one jam only to land in another. The plot moves quickly & resolves nicely, making it a great example of the action/comedy genre where the clever MC just can't catch a break.

Given his unreal abilities to write hard SF or Fantasy equally well, & maintain quality while producing quantity, I'm pretty much convinced that "Adrian Tchaikovsky" is actually three authors in a trench coat. :)

The only reason I haven't read all of his stuff is that I save it for reading slumps.
