Dumbing children down,is a thing now. Education being attacked is one way they can effectively alter and suffocate history,and replace it with their version.Children need to learn about the genocide in Rwanda,so they know and recognise genocide red flags.If it can happen there it can happen here

These writers understood,and are yelling at the present generation,a warning. When books are being banned,then, you know that country is in transition,and not in a good way. Books convey thoughts and ideas,as well as warnings.

Agreed m. I’m rereading Brave New World now. Some themes that underlie its plot were lost on me when I was a teen reading them in high school. But now? Very relevant. I got my book at a local second hand bookstore so it was cheap. And I still prefer the feel of a book in the hand vs. E-reader.

There is nothing like disappearing into a book,and climbing a mountain with frodo, samwise and of course Gollom. Journals written in different eras are also a way to understand how we got here.

The irony is,he says that he is not a king,yet,he does,it seems ,whatever he wants to. Does not ask permission. He expects every one to sing the maga mantra,and anyone who does not, is vilified, fired,or prosecuted. There is no "I" in "We the people,by the people And for the people"

He has set a standard now,and not a good one. How many elections will be disputed? Or declared cheating? You attack the vote,and you weaken a democracy. The vote is a consensus in a democracy,that the result will be upheld by all,especially the losers. Trump has weakened this very important pillar
