Countering misinformation provides them with a choice. False arguments based on misinformation, unfortunately, very much do lead somewhere, as Brexit makes painfully clear. We are being asked to remain quiet while others churn out misinformation designed to poison debate.
I find this disingenuous. Andy and his entourage contaminate discourse with deliberate disinformation. That bloke who writes for an expat rag in the Balearics gets quoted breathlessly by the red tops and millions read the rubbish. Disinformation must be countered.
It's what makes Niall's posts so great. Still, the sum total of your contribution to the debate seems to be if we don't like Andy's lies, we should mute rather than expose him, perhaps deliberately ignoring he will block many that choose the latter and yet still quote us. You an alt account of his?
I, for one, am grateful there are so many both willing and able to take on his campaign of deliberate misinformation. He blocked me for pointing out his bad faith and exceptionalism and my Bluesky experience is all the better for it. But his lies still need countering.
Is it really? Sure, the Emir and that bloke in the Balearics who gets his disinformation published in a local English-language rag are miffed they have to put up with the same conditions as other 3rd country nationals. They claim to speak for millions. Do they? Or are they just hollow vessels?

Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?
This is really smart. Amazed at the hysteria over the ascendance of a woman entrepreneur who clearly knows how to cover and sell news and who's not afraid to take on a mob. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
