I spent a few years partaking of the Toronto poetry scene many moons ago - a suitable yet dangerous distraction for someone who had the fortitude to drink too much & was getting unmarried - I did get two books published & a TV show out of it all so it wasn’t all poisoned livers & last call staggers.

Oh, I’ve spent too much time amongst poets - the best ones don’t read poetry, they speak poetry like they’re talking to their neighbour. It is the rare poet though whose words read them.
