SET IT OFF doesn't need a remake. The original 1996 film, one of the most influential Black movies to emerge from that period, more than holds up. That said, I like Steven Caple Jr being named as director. His work on THE LAND and CREED II is great.

I thought #ItEndswithUs was actually pretty decent. And I see #RegrettingYou tonight. But the next Colleen Hoover adaptation #RemindersofHim looks mad corny. Since Tyriq Withers is in it as an NFL pro it should've been a horror crossover titled Reminders of HIM

James L. Brooks doesn't deserve to have his last movie be the dreadful HOW DO YOU KNOW. Even if it took 15 years for his new film #EllaMcCay to happen and it looks a bit dated, I'm glad it's here.

Starring Emma Mackey and Jamie Lee Curtis, it opens on 12/12.

First review out of Middleburg is Noah Baumbach's surprisingly light, celebrity dramedy #JayKelly in which #GeorgeClooney plays a more broken down, regretful version of himself. He's charming, and I'm easily won over by him

Luca Guadagnino's #AfterTheHunt is written in such a deliberately vague way that it is inert, lifeless, totally free of tension or thrills. And yet it's also quite satisfied with itself for being culturally relevant. I wanted to take a nap.
