Some things the Firebase/Firestore console does:

🗂️ Load a list of collections
📑 Load a list of documents
🎧 Attach listeners to show updates

Each of these causes charged document reads, so close the console to avoid them

New to Firestore and can't explain the document read count from your code? 😬

This usually happens when you keep the Firestore console open during development, as the console also causes charged reads. Close the console to measure just your code.

Good to hear it was refunded.

For most real abuse they do that, but it's never guaranteed.

Locking down to specific APIs is one step, and then of course: security rules when you use a product where those exist.

The Firebase documentation now contains a full list of which API key permissions it requires for each product. This is really handy if you want to lock down your API keys to your specific project needs.

📖 The Forest of Lost Souls - Dean Koontz

Fast-paced underdog-versus-bully story where a woman uncovers the conspiracy behind her fiancé’s death. Engaging﹠straightforward plot, but the supernatural elements felt out of place. Enjoyable read.

Some parts hit hard, but the ending left me...mixed. Think Frodo and Sam at Mount Doom—but less satisfying. A decent-but-not-great finish to an otherwise gripping trilogy.

💙 Is there a good Record & Replay Debugger or Time-Travel Debugging (TTD) for Dart/Flutter?

So where you instrument the app/service on deploy, and it then always records state. When there's a crash, you can then step through the state changes leading up to that (in a debugger).

I'm trying to upload a passport pic to an airline website to expedite check-in.
