Where was this blue wave last year? Well, a victory still sorely needed, so congrats to all who voted! 🥳😎
Worked at the office Monday. While it’s certainly nice in a lot of ways to work from home it was good being in person for our team’s first Sprint Planning session and it’s my first time running as Scrum Master, which is pretty exciting
I’ve been wondering how much harm needs to happen to his own supporters before they understand that he doesn’t care about any of us. Everything is only to benefit him and satisfy his own anger and insecurities. No one else matters
Kiddo & I went out for a delightful dinner & then played some Luigi’s Mansion 2 which was fun. Didn’t get the time I’d hoped for this October so it’ll be another year before we come close to beating it but at least we made progress. Finished off te eve with dad & bros playing Valheim
Late prepping for Halloween this year but it actually turned out really well: daughter’s zombie came out great & my frog suit was a hit. Halloweening was smooth & kids had fun. Was the first year my youngest nephew really got into it & picked up the method well from his cousins. Solid good time
I enjoy the board game AuZtralia but due to time it’s usually hard to pull out; however, since tomorrow’s Halloween I did crack it out and it did run long, and we did lose, but we still had fun playing it. Mission accomplished
It was nice working in an office again this week but I’m also glad to work from home the rest of the week. Commuting takes a lot out of the day. Getting out is good but the time sink is rough
One of the things hitting me at the new job, particularly since I’ve been on-site, is how the age demographic is quite different. Even though the university was full of young students, I was average age amongst my department colleagues. On the farm I’m feeling a bit older
First day working on the farm was a success. Odd feeling being back in an office after the last 5 years fully remote. Ultimately I’ll be mostly remote here as well but it was nice meeting folks in person today
Well it’s been a nice 3 weeks break. Flew by way faster than I expected. Got a lot done but didn’t get everything. That’s okay though, tomorrow begins a new challenge…
Daughter & I hung out at the cafe a bit then bro & I took the kids to the Spooky Walk in town. As usual it was a nice time. We saw a few cool costumes and made it back to play a little Valheim with the fam
Took daughter & nephews out for an early trick-or-treating at the town business Halloween night & they seemed to enjoy it. Had dinner at bro’s then zipped home for a Friday game night where we pushed it right to the edge but won Sub Terra II 😎
As I near the end of my interjob vacation I did manage to squeeze out a good amount of work on my own projects today. Doesn’t look like I’ll hit all my goals but I did make good progress so I should be ready for the new start next week
Finally got a game played that sat on my shelf for 2 years: Blazon. It’s a game about heraldry including a rule book full of historical notes & information. Game itself was solid albeit a bit fiddly. Good game but also not amazing. Torn as to whether I hang on to it
Took kiddo for dinner to Caffè Nero where I did some coding research and then we worked on her math. Ended up hanging out there for 2.5 hours but good learning time for both of us
My girl is 10 today! Pretty chill day, bit rainy, but she had dance & a good day at school. She’s got a few school tasks yet tonight but also a few more gifts & fun 🥳
Well it’s been a full weekend of birthday fun for daughter. Today we had her friends & cousin make clay sculptures and enjoy delicious mochi donuts (monuts). Everyone seemed to enjoy. Capped off the night playing Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD with kiddo
First day of kiddo’s 10th birthday weekend done & a success. Took her to see Music from the Sole at the Boston Arts Academy which was fun: jazz, tap, and a bit performance art. Then had a family bday party including letting the kids decorate their own cupcakes. Finishing with a cousin sleepover here
Mostly a day of getting things together for daughter’s birthday but did squeeze in some down time to watch Taskmaster with wife. Got a full weekend ahead
Mostly a gaming day today, getting in Glen More II: Chronicles, Magical Athlete, Lord of the Rings: Trick-Taking Game, and Unmatched Adventures: Tales to Amaze. Had plenty fun but also scored an abysmally low 0 points in Magical Athlete, which seems bad even for such a high chance game 😮
The nation’s going to the crapper fast. So many destructive things going on. I wasn’t expecting this level until at least next year but it came way faster. If you voted for him but see where this is headed: complain, be vocal, tell others you were lied to. Getting out of this mess needs all of us
Spent the day playing a game with bro & friend, multiple small outstanding chores I needed to do, & helping daughter with her math homework. Halfway through my work break & getting things done
Despite heavy storm weather I had a nice lunch with wife watching Jules and some Andor. Then went with bro, sis-in-law, daughter, & nephews to climbing/balancing activity thing & dinner
Today was my youngest nephew’s birthday party so we made it out for some delicious dim sum, followed by cake & some fun gifts for him. And since it’s a holiday weekend daughter’s doing a sleepover at her cousins’ and bros, dad, & I started playing Valheim
