By which I mean the originals manage to be genuinely creepier and darker in tone AND also bombastic, bright and silly.

I really love a lot of the characterisation that they've done but there's just as much stuff that DOESN'T work.

Plus, the deeper we go into this era the more I miss the wealth of different tones - everything is dour all the time in the REmakeverse. Originals were way more complex, on that front.

Its so nice to see I'm not the only one who loses their mind thinking about these things. 2R is a fun game but it absolutely whiffed on the story. Some great examples you've pointed out here.

Definitely my answer too. I'd played 7 through a half a dozen times or more before playing in VR so I knew it well. I STILL felt unbelievably uncomfortable every second of it. The vibe of the house is such that you do not want to be in there, even when nothing is happening.

Randomly decided to put on a really old playlist earlier this week and it shuffled in some Lostprophets. Haven't listened in years and years, and felt guilty for having that nostalgia.

Feel a bit less guilty now. It'll never not be tainted, but their first two albums were sensational work.

Ubisoft reportedly cancelled an in-development Assassin's Creed game set in the post-Civil War Reconstruction era of the United States due to concerns over possible online backlash. The game would've starred a black man returning to the South to fight for justice.

The CGI looks like Illumination style. The baby is wearing Rosalina's colour and the hair is somewhat shaped similar. It's a stretch but the baby's mobile also has stars and planets on it.
