New album available. It's a grimy, expressionist ode to a place I used to live as a kid. Naïve new wave-ish instrumentals and vibey nonsense, for those tuned to such wavelengths. proximapsychoacoustics.bandcamp.com/album/whynott

Further evidence that old is not always good.

Wow, I thought only us Canadians were subjected to this.

It was more bonkers, and just as uneven, as I expected, but I had a good time.

As an enjoyer of Cronenberg and Philip K Dick, it's odd that I never watched eXistenZ before tonight

Very jealous you got to see Pulp. "Slow Jam" might well be my favourite song of the year so far.

Shouting "Crowded Theater" In A Fire: Responding to a real emergency with some baffling shit that only serves to delay an actual course of action

On one hand, I guess it shows you're not overly attached to the past (especially when greatest successes are behind you), with a bit of carnival-barker "You ain't seen NOTHIN' yet!" hype. I always find it a bit sad, though, like praising your youngest child, using their older siblings for contrast.

Watching Bowie interviews, he seemed to always promote a new album at the expense of the previous album. I think part of it was just promotion-talk, or maybe it was just his excitement about the new stuff; when he didn't talk like this, you could tell he thought the new stuff sucked ("Tonight").

For real, though, the new múm album is enjoyable, imo.

The sacred laws of internet artistry oblige me to point out my new album arriving in October (despite you clearly soliciting "September releases").

"Whynott" is the new album coming out 14 Oct. It's about a place where I grew up. You can pre-order, if that's your thing; you can also hear a couple of the songs already. proximapsychoacoustics.bandcamp.com/album/whynott

My new collection of songs (or 'album') will be out 14 October. I'm impatient, though.

Visiting family in Nova Scotia. Kind of a bummer with all the wildfires (like everywhere right now), not allowed in the woods at all ($25000 fine; they're not messing around).

However, new album's done, which is always a very nice feeling.

I don't get out much, but tonight was a good time.
Concert stage for Weird Al Yankovic and Puddles Pity Party in Toronto.

That's a cool photo. The water-writing on the rock is a neat idea.

A (mostly) all-Canadian edition of the AM on @cjsw.bsky.social this week. One or two songs are a stretch, I’ll admit, but it’s not officially Canada Day yet, so maybe just let it slide.

As a constant listener for 8 of those years, I really appreciate the obvious care you put into creating these playlists. (Looking at various algorithm-generated Morning Mood playlists, I notice none contain any songs by Suicide; I'm convinced that's relevant.)

Excellent album; I highly recommend it. Love every track.
