$130 million sounds like a lot until you consider that DoD has ~1.3 million active members, National Guard is >750k, civilians members is >750k. That's about $100 for each member if just DoD, less if you include the others.
I do agree it needs to be a coordinated effort between the provinces and the feds, but I like the ad. I think we need to stop wasting our time with the Trump administration. There is no appeasing him, he will always find or make up an excuse.
Maybe $100 is too generous, this has around double the number
$100 each if this is accurate with 1.31 million active-duty members.

Doug Ford's ad using Reagan's words slamming tariffs just aired during the World Series
The caveat to that is that higher prices in the US will hurt their economy, thus lowering domestic demand.

However, to my point, take soy beans as an example. US exports dried up almost overnight to the benefit of other countries as China retaliates. We could similarly benefit in those situations.
It might not. Why? Tariffs that the US charges make American goods more competitively priced, resulting in more sales within the US. Manufacturing capacity takes years to build, so that results in lower American exports, which creates opportunities for us to fill. Either that or they keep buying 🇨🇦.

JUST IN... Expect a 4-month full vehicle traffic closure of a segment of Broadway near Main Street, starting January 2026.

Needed to remove the temporary traffic decks put in for subway station construction.

Expect big delays & detours. #vanpoli #vanre

Angus: Canada is reconsidering that relationship with China. Why? Because we can no longer trust the US.

And we know that we have 150, maybe more, Canadians in custody at ICE detention centers. We had two Canadians under Chinese custody and it caused a huge outcry. We now have over 150 in the US.
It is all performative anyway, just like the White House Press Corps. I would think this actually frees journalists to cover stories because the threat of getting kicked out is no longer there, not that it truly mattered.

In fact, journalists should just leave the White House Press Corps too.
Yeah, but that didn't work with Scheer. He's still there, unable to take the hint that he isn't wanted or unable to find a job outside of politics. It will be the same with Poilievre.
Yes, except for votes on military action, which I think should be 2/3 support.
As a Canadian, we can wait for the next serious administration, however long that may take.
46 people have now been murdered as a result of war crimes in blowing up boats. This facist regime needs to be held to account. They should not feel safe from being held to account when setting foot in another country.
How can anyone look to the US and be like, "we need that governing style here"?

Although, if it was going to be anywhere, then the UK makes sense as they voted for Brexit and elected the Boris Johnson led Conservatives to form government more than once.
Strong does not mean close.
Reform is a relatively new party, established 7 years ago. Labour has held the seat for over 100 years but placed third. Even though it is ~3800 votes between 1st & 2nd, yes, it is a strong result.
The level of support Reform is currently receiving should be concerning.
The NHTSA said Friday it's in contact about a new Tesla driver assistance mode dubbed "Mad Max" that operates at higher speeds than other versions.

Some drivers report that Tesla vehicles using the more aggressive version of its Full Self-Driving system could operate above posted speed limits.

Carney: "We can't control the trade policy of the US. We recognize it has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, & it's a situation where US has tariffs against every trading partner... what we we can control is developing new partnerships, including w/econ giants of Asia"
Yeah, I don't care for Newsome either, but I've been impressed with how he & his comms team have stepped up to challenge Trump.

Ford, while presenting an opposition, in action, he has not really followed through. Took pressure for him to cancel Starlink.

They can't, as the poker & sports betting are linked. Billups would likely be the coach referred to below.
The mob ran the poker games. No way this was a one-off. The mob would definitely have been like, "we've been helping you with these poker games, you need to help us with making sports bets..."
