With the current attitude of "protect the children!!" going through society, we'll want to make sure the servers and the payment processor (if necessary) aren't likely to be weak points for external pressure groups to shut it down.

Not to be nerdy on main, but I think a good template may be AO3-- the best example of a subgroup deciding to own their own site so as to not be shut down by external companies. However, AO3's longevity is bolstered by being non-profit and having a legal team.

1) Audiochan is making a go of it, but it's missing community. There's no way to comment or message. 2) Making sure writers are given their due through a way to cite back to the original script/writer's page. 3) Linking back to GWASI or having a similarly powerful search function to find things.

I mean, hard to say just because in general writers have fewer followers, so it's harder for the news to spread. OGY had 13K followers to notice his sudden disappearance. Most writers are lucky to have 100. But maybe if we put out the call, we'll find a few more.

I always come back to Jane Austen novels as a perennial read, but I have a very deep fondness for Carl Sagan's Contact, even as flawed as the novel is (I think the film is better realized), and of course his non-fiction books as well.
